He's looked bad in the German uniform lately, and now, doesn't seem fit for the Hertha armband.

your thoughts?

I haven't seen the Wales game, but one game (Cyprus) where he's been dissapointing doesn't = automatic drop. Jansen is and should remain our starter, but Arne is a quality back-up. ;)

What exactly has been his problem at Hertha as of late?

From what I've seen this year, I think Manuel Friedrich, Gorlitz (no joke!), Castro and Westermann have all out-performed him...

He's looked horrendous for Hertha as of late.

Well I'll have to say he's looked bad with some bad teammates like Chahed, but he's looked poor himself, today he gave away a few bad counters, but like I said i think the others I've mentioned deserve call ups more than him atm...

Gorlitz (no joke!)

I agree.

Westermann and Manuel Friedrich are CB

As long as Löw sees him as a CB I have no problem with him. Give me Arne over M. Friedrich, Westermann and all those other average (and inexperienced) CBs.

tbh Westermann and M. Friedrich played for sure above average this season.
Westermann also managed to look good as CB when playing for a team like Bielefeld (not that easy) and can also play as FB, he proved that in a great game against Chelsea.
Im not saying a change is necessary but there are other options.

I wouldn't drop Arne as a CB alternative to Metze & Merte, but I'd definitely drop him as a RB!

I'd take Castro, Fritz and even Lell over him as a substitute right-back. Center-back is another matter, he's a quality back-up for that position.

Castro needs a bit more time, slow down now.. He was horrendous I heard in our last game for Germany, his time will come. Lell has been excellent this season, and Fritz I'm not too sure about his defensive abilities..

Just like pretty much everyone else in that match. Nothing to judge him for...

[quote=Equilibrium;13334131]Lell has been excellent this season

By his standards yeah, but nowhere near as good or as promising as Castro!

:p

He has definitely been better than Castro this season, but Castro has a lot more potential. Castro is not ready yet, MAYBE after Euro 08 but definitely not before.

Considering it's blatantly true, there is nothing funny about it.

If it was, yeah. However, it's blatantly obvious it isn't...

Actually I think he's done very well this season. Not sure about NT good, but he's done very well. I'll tread the middle ground and not let you guys sway me to think any other way :p

Lell's been quite solid this season so far. Nothing more, nothing less.
