Just fyi to correct an error in the interview, there was NO baseball team in Queens in the 1950s. The NY Mets played 1962-3 in the Polo Grounds in Manhattan, and moved to Queens in 1964. Prior to that, the NY Giants played in the Polo Grounds to 1957. At one time, the NY Giants played a few seasons in Staten Island during the 1900's.

Most queens residents were Giants fans though - That was the emphasis i was going for. I was showing how those three boroughs were at war over baseball!

I moved to Queens (Flushing) in 1954. I was one of the lone NY Giants fans around my neighborhood. I was always outnumbered by Dodger and Yankee fans. I strongly disagree with your statement that "most queens residents were Giants fans...".

There is no way to measure the number of fans in Queens of each team. But if you give facts, they should be accurate. Otherwise everything else in the interview becomes questionable. The fact is that there were no MLB teams in Queens during the 1950s. No amount of "spin" or "emphasis" can change that.

His point was that the city is built on rivalries. And at a time when the population of the city was prob half of what it is now the city supported 3 major sports teams(not to mention football and basketball).Your nit-picking.
