You might even get 2nd Platz too if we do the business against AZ, even though we are probably going to play with a shadow side.

@Borussia:

About the boys selling the Bratwurst at Christkindlesmarkt...I did know about that: http://www.fcn.de/index.php?id=16190

...I just didn't say anything or post in here, because it would have been followed by a bunch of girly-girl "Awwwwwww" commentary, and I get the impression that I am the only female Clubfan in here (or at least that posts, or is so erm......what's the word I am searching....so devoted to the team???), and I didn't think you boys in here really wanted to see a bunch of girly-girl comments to make sick. ;)

But I can't help myself, sometimes it doesn't take much to amuse or entertain me, especially when it comes to my FCN boys, I have a very soft heart for anything to do with my Nürnberg boys. http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc263/alexanderstephan/fcn.gif

And btw, I understood what you meant with overwinter, and me also not having English as a native language, I myself couldn't come up with a better word, but I knew what you were saying. :)

Also, did anyone happen to see the little Christmas greetings video rom Marek Mintal from, last week I think it was? Very cute, but I think he must've been very nervous. He didn't crack a smile even once! And it sounds like he says "Ahoi" right at the beginning, hehehe, my boys are too damn cute for their own good.

Yeah, I should have remembered that! :D

I would expect Everton to play with a "shadow side."

The reason you never saw me here on the FCN forum is because I didn't know it existed. If I had, I would be here every Saturday to keep up with what's going on. Normally I try to follow the news in Yahoo, but my ability to read German is absolutely horrific. It used to be able to follow the kicker, but that was 15 years ago. Haven't had an opportunity to speak German much over the years and I have lost quite a bit.

Anyway, I sure hope The Club kicks ass tomorrow.
It definitely would be great to see them go into the knockout round of the UEFA cup.

PS Thanks for letting me know this thread existed. I changed my settings so now I will be notified by e-mail. Maybe now I can keep up.

Are they going to be streaming the game tomorrow. I called my Frau, who lives in Nürnberg, and she doesn't think they're showing it on normal television there.

I'll check back here tomorrow afternoon.

They are airing it on TV there...I think ZDF, but don't quote me on that. One of my cousins records all the games for me and sends me them on DVD until I get my DSF, ZDF and ARD here (or until I get my ass permanently over there in Frankenland, whichever comes first)

Actually...wait, I take that back. I just now checked at ZDF myself, and I can now confirm it will be played there:

http://www.zdf.de/ZDFde/inhalt/17/0,1872,3991185_idDispatch:7300372,00.html

And just curious, but you live in Tampa, but your wife is in Nürnberg?

Thanks. I'll try again later to see if they are streaming it.

The frau situation is a long story. I'll write more when I get my voice soft working tomorrow, if you interested.

I don't know about a live stream online. But I think if you did a Google search or something using keywords with it, you can maybe find a P2P stream or something? You might want to see if ZDF will do a live stream..sometimes they do. I do know that Radio Gong will be airing a live audio stream of it. Unfortunately during the time it will be airing, I will be at work, so I wouldn't be able to see it anyway. That's why one of my cousins always records it for me, I'm the most devoted Glubärä in the family. ;)

So you're an american Clubfan? Wow....that's quite unique! I don't run into too many of those, and any I have, have been over there in the US military and got to experience real football and fell in love with the FCN boys!

And sure, am very curious to hear your story actually. Sounds interesting. :)

I took your advice and did some more searching. I did manage to find out that ZDF is planning to stream the game if anyone's interested. I believe they are showing the Hamburg game and then switching back and forth to the Nürnberg game whenever something noteworthy happens. At least that's what I got out of the text. As I said before, my German is atrocious nowadays.

http://www.zdf.de/ZDFsport/inhalt/0/0,5676,1700000,00.html

I have been a fan of the club since I moved back over there in 1988. My brother in law took me to a game and I was hooked once I watched it live. I still remember the game vividly -- Nürnberg against Rome during the UEFA cup. It was the second round and Nürnberg ended up losing the match during the over time.

As for why my wife lives in Germany, she was living there when I was stationed in Alabama. She is from Nürnberg and I was stationed there for a total of nine years altogether. I spent six years in there with my wife and the first three years I was single.

Anyway, in 1995 I was paralyzed in a bicycle accident and left a quadriplegic. That basically means I am unable to move anything below my neck. It wasn't good for me to return to Germany as my wife wanted, so I decided to stay here. She tried to relocate over here, but just couldn't bring herself to do it. We ended up getting a divorce so she could move on with her life and she really never did. She has been returning to visit me here in Tampa for more than 10 years now. Right now we are in flux not knowing whether she is going to relocate here permanently or whether she's just going to keep traveling back and forth.

We are still divorced, but we will remarry if she decides to live here. Like I said, it's rather complicated. I had planned on retiring over in Nürnberg, so my wife had no idea that I would end up living here in Tampa. She did live here back in 1987 and didn't like it, but now I have quite a bit more money and things have changed considerably here, so she does like it much better, but she still misses Germany when she is here.

Well, enough of this book.

I'll talk to you all later and hopefully somebody can watch the game.
Billy

Wow, well I’m sorry you had to leave Germany. I can understand why your wife wouldn’t want to move here though…compared to where she is living now, well, I am sure you can understand too. I hope things work out for you though!

So ZDF is doing a live stream? Great! I still can’t watch though live, since I’ll be at work. But my cousin is recording it for me and sending it to me ASAP afterwards, because I just found out from the FCN site that my most favourite player will be playing.

I was born a Cluberer, so I’ve been with them through good and bad times, and will always love them regardless of what happens. Do you have any favourite players?

All the best to you BillPaul. I really believe you and your wife have true love and that it eventually will find a way.

I lived either in that area (Erlangen) or near it for most of the time between October 1988 and April 2003.

The most time I was away from it during that time was 15 months in Heidelberg on a military call up.

I should be able to get the match tonight. I have digital cable and the ZDFinfo channel is listed for me.

If I'm at home in time tonight, I'll post match updates.

I would definitely appreciated. My wife just called and told me the game was on a different channel, but when I went to check out the link, they had a little warning at the bottom which said it could only be shown within Germany for legal reasons.

I wish they would have posted that yesterday, as I could have written and asked for an exception. I was able to get one for the Pokal game in June. They actually lifted the blocking device so people in the United States could watch the game. I guess I thought that their heartstrings by writing to everyone from the Bundesliga to the German soccer federation. They eventually forwarded it on to ZDF and they lifted the block for that game.

Not good news. While Everton are doing their part and beating Alkmaar, FCN just gave up a goal to a Larisa "B" side and are down 1-0. The goal came in the 11th minute.

Kozlej scored for Larisa.

The Everton goal was scored by Andy Johnson in the 2nd minute.

As things stand right now, FCN are out. Right now, they just need a goal to advance because Everton is winning.

Thanks Billy. That's really good to know. Maybe from now on, others here can write with you to ask that matches be unblocked.

Who knows? Maybe it will work out......

Bad news. Alkmaar tied it up with Everton in the 16th minute. Pelle is the goal scorer. 1-1 there. Still 1-0 Larisa in Greece.

All, it's the 35th minute and honestly, I have to say the match is boring. For fielding a "B" side, Larisa are holding their own with FCN, who don't seem to be showing any sense of urgency.

Still 1-0 to Larisa. FCN has done nothing to get me excited about their chances.

Good news!! Everton took a 2-1 lead in Alkmaar and almost right after that, Saenko scored for FCN in the 45th minute!!

It's halftime and and if the scores stand, FCN are through to the next round!

But FCN needs to win this match. They HAVE to play better in the second half!!

Jagielka scored for Everton.
