Kicker says FCN is going after Jan Koller. Would be a top buy imo.

Found an article (not from Kicker) regarding the same Jan Koller/FCN interest:

Whoa guys! I didn't mean it wasn't true! I read the Kicker report.
I just don't see Jan Koller playing for FCN, that's all!
But, I do know FCN is popular with Czech players because it's so close to home for them......
However, if you guys aren't in Europe again, I don't see Jan Koller joining FCN.
That's what my "Yeah right!" was about.
But don't forget, I also never thought Bayern would get Franck Ribery either.

Looks like I was wrong about Jan Koller. Reports are flying that Koller and FCN have reached a deal, now the only thing standing in the way is FCN and Monaco reaching a deal to allow Koller to leave during the January transfer window.
According to the reports, a decision will be made sometime after Christmas.
When I made my previous comments, I was not aware that Jan Koller had become second choice at Monaco and only had nine starting lineup appearances for them this season.
Yes, I am pleading ignorance! LOL!! ;)
FCN Manager Martin Bader says that if a deal is done, Koller would take over in the middle and Charisteas would most likely move over to the right.
Koller was one of my favorites at BVB and we still love our "Big Daddy Dino" or "BDD" for short as we call him on our e-mail list.
If I were Hans Meyer, I'd play Koller with either Adler or Saenko, not Charisteas. Koller is best at setting up his partner and finishing when he has to. He's best if he has a younger, faster, partner out there as he had in Dortmund with Amoroso and Ewerthon.
Well, Amoroso wasn't younger, but faster and a deadly finisher. I think you guys have a potentially similar player in Saenko.
If FCN gets him it'll be bittersweet for me.
On one hand, I'll be happy to see one of my favorite players back in the Bundesliga and with my second favorite Bundesliga club.
On the other hand, it'll be hard to see him line up against BVB when we get our revenge on you guys the weekend of 3 May......
And you can bet I will find a way to be there as I usually am when FCN plays at the Westfalenstadion.
I hope you guys won't mind when we sing his name from the Sudtribune! :D
As far as I remember no one hated him or blamed him for leaving.
I was part of the BVB crowd at the Allianz Arena two years ago serenading him as he bid farewell to BVB with two goals against Bayern......

Can't really say that I do. Only saw him play a few times. I say it's great because FCN can use all the defensive help they can get......

Yea been disappointed in Spiranovic and Beauchamp, they looked good when I saw them play against Hertha last year, kept Pante and Gimenez shut. Pinola's loss is a big one.

Does anyone know if these two new signings - if completed in January - will allow them to play in the UEFA cup when we advance?? There are some rules keeping players 'cup tied' to a certain team, but I don't know how that applies here.
Who knows the odds of us winning on the 20th?? I know Larissa are last in the group, but it's at their stadium - If I did the math right we need a win to advance.

Both would be eligible to play in the UEFA Cup IF you guys advance....

FCN does need to win and I know nothing about Larissa besides they knocked out the Blackburn Rovers to qualify. That tells me they are capable of winning this match.
But I think FCN will win......

Simple really, if you can't win at Larissa, you don't deserve to go to the next round anyways IMHO. You SHOULD beat them though, they've been piss poor this round

Good luck for today's away game auf Schalke!
It's seems not unlikely to me that you will need at least 1 point in order to avoid a relegation spot during the winter break (since Rostock & Duisburg have viable home matches)...

Well, after the 1:2 away defeat against Schalke and Rostock's home win over Bochum, the FCN will overwinter on a relegation spot.

I know. :(
That breaks my heart too.
My boys are better than this, they really are,
it has just been one of those seasons so far.
Oh well..so ist das Leben.
I will always love my FCN boys no matter what happens.

"Overwinter?"
Uwe, you're creating new words now? ;)
As far as I know, we don't try to describe that with one word in English.
Your sentence would have read, "Well, after.......FCN will spend the winter break in a relegation spot."
Not trying to be an a-hole here, just trying to help out. If I missed or overlooked something, please let me know.

Of course they are better, but somehow they often tripped themselves up during this Vorrunde. Typical example was the Schalke game on Saturday, when they played too anxiously in the first half and even scored an own goal ... then dominated the match after the interval, but only hit the post twice after the 1:2. Nearby they aren't clever enough ... or let's call it "too honest" (Marek Mintal could have got a penalty if he went down in the box after Bordon's clear foul instead of trying to get the ball).
Here a quotation from Hans Meyer in "Blickpunkt Sport" (Bavarian tv):
"Letzte Saison war der Fußballgott ein Clubberer, jetzt nicht mehr."
Btw: Here's a match report from the game on Saturday for you. :-)

PS: I've seen a few players selling "Bratwürste" at the 'Christkindlesmarkt'. :D Was that a punishment for the bad Vorrunde? :p
Well, with a victory in Larissa next Thursday, they have the opportunity to go through the UEFA Cup group stage ... what would be a great achievement and a compensation for the disappointing first half of the BL season.
