Who would not have enjoyed that??!!
How about fc koln ?
The new rule simply makes it more difficult to win promotion from the second bundesliga.

Those players gave a better effort under TvH.
And still got relegated...
I don't have any problem with T. von Heesen (why should I, being a BMG and not a FCN supporter) ... but I simply can't hear that silly argument that Hans Meyer prevented all those national players from reaching their potential! T. von Heesen didn't have to cope with as many handicaps as Hans Meyer ... and still didn't manage to avoid relegation. That's reality!
look at what Luhukay did with Gladbach after he was given a chance to help them in the 2. Liga despite doing very badly in Liga 1.
Don't forget that Jos Luhukay (I remember you calling him a bad manager who should have been sacked after relegation) had to cope with a team without attack (Neuville was injured, Kahè & Sonck total flops)!
And then take a look at Nürnberg's strikers: Saenko (Russian national team player), Vittek (Slovakian national team player), Charisteas (Greek national player) and Koller (Czech national player).
Any more questions?

It basically means the President and the board got together today and unanimously decided to continue on with Bader as Sport Director and von Heesen as coach.
After they had to pay a lot of money to Hans Meyer, they simply can't allow to pay another compensation (T. von Heesen's contract included the 2 Bundesliga) ;) ... so the decision could have been influenced by financial aspects, too.
Bader & Von Heesen seem to have a bad standing among the fans at the moment ... so you can imagine what's going on in the case that Nürnberg shouldn't have a good start next season. I'd be very surpised to see Mr. Roth react with the same patience as Mr. Königs did in Mönchengladbach...
But well, schaun mer mal.

I did call him a bad manager who should have been fired and after this season, I humbly take that back - I was wrong on him.
However fact is he still didn't do a better job in that half season than Heynckes before him, in fact he did worse, despite Heynckes having been wholly unsuccessful. It is in this sense that I can relate to FCN: von Heesen took the place of a manager who in the past had done great things for the club but in the present season was doing a sub-par job considering the team's ability, getting them in a relegation spot, just like with Gladbach. Von Heeesen then failed to avoid relegation with many unconvincing performances - like Luhukay. now Luhukay stayed and brought the club back, and I think the situation is structured in the same way in FCN, especially since we already know from his time in Bielefeld that von Heesen is capable of getting good results with a side.
And don't say that Gladbach relegated due to the 'Kader' not being good enough - BMG had a solid side last season(only on paper of course) and no one expected them to relegate before the year began! Once again, just like FCN. this season.

You keep on with that "the fans" shit. Like I told you, the day these guys start letting what "the fans" think influence their decisions, is the day that club truly goes to hell.
And you're here in this FCN thread breaking your arm patting your boys on the back every chance you get.
Let's see how they do against 1. Liga competition, shall we? I think everyone, except maybe VfBStuttgartFan knew you guys would be right back.
Next season will show you how truly good your Luhukay is. You had all the excuses for him in getting relegated. Let's see next season.
And to take this back to FCN, Ziege seems to be smart enough to take advantage of the FCN relegation to try to get Peer Kluge back.
That would be great for your boys......
Oh and FCN next season? If they can keep enough players as your guys did, I think they will run away with the 2. Liga next season much like your boys did this season.

LOOOL.
Because I just answered that Luhukay had worse premises than Von Heesen when he took over in Gladbach...

The other comments were in response to something else. My fault there.

Once again I got booted and failed to see this thread until it was too late.
I'm not into speculating about whether one coach could have done it or not, but I must be honest and tell everyone that as a devoted fan for the last 20 years I knew the game was up when they lost in Berlin. I thought they should have at least taken a point out of that match.
I was extremely lucky to be able to watch the game live here in the United States on Saturday and to say it was less than inspired is a bit of an understatement. Yes, they did come out pretty strong and a few of The Club players trying to elevate the play of the others, but if they were truly fighting to stay up they would have played considerably harder.
I guess now I'll be watching them in the second league, but then again I should be able to watch them more often now since it will be shown in the late afternoon on the Internet here.
Take care,
Billy Paul

Uwe, she's probably pretty busy and pretty angry. I think she'll be back. She's a true FCN fan.

I did that quite some time ago, but I don't check it is often as I should and many times I end up missing an entire thread.
I love it when they e-mail me to let me know there is a new entry.
I looked for this particular forum when I was initially looking for information on The Club, but the only one I found listed was no longer active.
My Frau will be showing up in a couple of weeks with with a team autographed jersey and a ton of other memorabilia. It's too bad I don't have a picture of my Mustang before I was paralyzed. I had a handmade Club license plate on the front.

Pascal Bieler has joined FC Nurnberg, good luck to him, I think he'd be great in the 2. Bundesliga.

Don't know about his being "great" in the 2. Liga, but I think it's a "great" move for both player and club.

Kicker reports that FCN defender Ralf Schmidt, who was brought to the club by Hans Meyer, has returned to Carl Zeiss Jena, where he signed a two-year contract.
Also, in last week's SportBild, I thought Misimovic made some very interesting comments about what happened at FCN this past season.
Especially as he was by far the team's best player over the entire season.
He was asked when he knew FCN would be fighting relegation. He asked the reporter, "Should I respond honestly?"
Of course the reporter says "Yes."
And then Misimovic said, "We knew already at summer training camp."
He then goes on to say he bumped into one of his former co-trainers at Bochum and told him about it. The guy just laughed him off as Misimovic said many did. Misimovic said everyone (I assume he means the FCN players) ignored Hans Meyer when he warned them about it.
He was also asked about why after the coaching change it seemed the players still did not get that things were so urgent, Misimovic said:
"The coaching change came at an inappropriate and even incorrect time. Such a move usually gives a club new momentum. In our case it was different because it came directly after our unlucky UEFA Cup exit. The effect was lost after two matches."
He didn't say making the move was incorrect, he said they did it at the wrong time......
Reading his interview, it looks like the great season of 2006/2007 (Well, it was "great" by FCN standards.....) not only made many of the FCN fans think the club was/is something that it is not, it seems that arrogance crept into the FCN locker room too.
Misimovic was also questioned hard about "jumping ship" at FCN (For those who don't know, Misimovic has all but signed a contract to join VfL Wolfsburg next season, I think the two clubs just have to agree on a transfer fee) as if his leaving was some type of character flaw.
Misimovic set the reporter straight with some harsh words about why it isn't any "character flaw" and told the reporter that FCN let him know that in the 2. Liga, they could not afford to keep him.
I'm sorry I can't go through it all, but it was a very interesting interview.
