Pity for Nürnberg, since they had a 1:0 lead at half time...[/QUOTE]

You're right about that. Thanks for the clarification.

Quote:

"Eine Neuansetzung des Spiels soll nun zeitnah erfolgen. Das Spiel wird dann komplett neu neu angesetzt und zum neuen Termin mit Spielstand 0:0 neu angepfiffen und über 90 Minuten gespielt."

That means that the game will be replayed soon. However, not from the moment on when it was interrupted (half time) ... but right from the start at the score of 0:0. That's the DFB rules.

Pity for Nürnberg, since they had a 1:0 lead at half time...

You're right man. That totally sucks. But I'm confident they will come out just as fired up and take the points.

We're playing you on Wednesday. Unfortunately my club can by no means afford to do you any favours if we want to achieve our goals, but at the same time FCN's form has clearly improved a lot in the last two (and a half...) matches, and i'm very nervous that VfB won't be able to secure the 3 points here. We'll see whether i'm correct, I sure hope not.

The bad part is I won't be able to watch the game on the Internet on Sunday, but at least I can watch Wednesday's game against Stugart. Made the network here in the states will show the game on Sunday. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

According to kicker.de, FCN has lodged a protest with the DFB (not the DFL as the DFB is still the overall authority in German Football) because of Andreas Wolf's yellow card in the match against VfL Wolfsburg that was canceled at halftime because of torrential rain.

The entire match will be replayed this coming Sunday, but the yellow card Wolf picked up in the match has been allowed to stand.

I am assuming that FCN is protesting since the match is being replayed, whatever took place in the canceled match should all be canceled as was their goal and their halftime lead.

I'm with FCN on this one. If the match was canceled and is going to be fully replayed, then that yellow card should be stricken from the books.

Agree aswell, if you're going to take away the goal they scored and everything good that they did in 45 minutes, you need to take away the negatives as well.

Fact is, as far as the table goes, that match was never played. So whatever happened within it should be treated as if it never happened.

After the 0:3 defeat in Stuttgart, a home win over Wolfsburg on Sunday will be crucial in order to avoid relegation (5 points lag to spot 15 at the moment)!

Good luck.

@ Annje

I hope you are ok. Haven't heard from you for a longer time now...

The FCN wins just seem to be getting more and more vital as we move towards the end of the season.

The goal was a great finish from Koller with power! Oh and Saenko is a terrible diver. It looked quite silly to dive there when he could have continued and tried to create something. These kind of things tend to give players a bad reputation.

Misimovic better get ready next weekend as Bielefeld come to Nürnberg. What a thriller coming up and hopefully TvH can use some of his knowledge about Bielefeld to prepare FCN for the match.

Dumm, dümmer ... FCN!

2:0 half-time lead and 24:3 shots on goal in a sold-out stadium ... but 2:2 in the end against a direct opponent and still a relegation spot.

Uwe, I think what the FCN fans did with Jan Koller on Friday night was totally s#itty and classless.

I've always thought FCN fans from "our area" are a bit unrealistic, but I love them.

I've been watching them more this season, especially the younger fans.

I have to say the younger ones are shameful. No class, unrealistic and at times totally stupid.

This isn't just about what they did to Koller on Friday night. As I've said, I've watched them more this season to see how they would act after last season.

Those FCN fans in that stadium were shameful. What they did was just f#cking shameful. And they have also been nothing short of stupidly arrogant all season.

Going back to Koller.

I could understand their reaction if Koller had a s#itty night or something, but he was easily FCN's best player on Friday.

You mean to tell me none of them had any understanding of what it meant for Koller to return to Dortmund?

I don't recall any of the Wolfsburg fans booing and flipping off Jacek Krzynowek when the FCN fans cheered him upon his return to the Frankenstadion last season. I took an interest because "K-Man" was one of my favorites at FCN.

Man, this doesn't even bother me as a Dortmund fan. It bothers me to see what the young FCN fans are becoming.

Duisburg's victory over Leverkusen today in my opinion makes it next to impossible for FCN to save themselves anymore.

I'm sorry for the club, the older fans and you guys here. But from what I've seen of the younger generation of FCN fans this season, those fans f#cking deserve to be "relegated...."

And again, I don't mean all FCN fans at all. Just the younger generation who seem to be taking the torch now.....

@ Keith

You are right about the fact that there's many idiots among the Nürnberg fans (they have "proven" it too often in the past). However, I think that Koller should have known that doing a multiple "laola" with the Dortmund fans in the current serious FCN situation, would provoke the suffering Nürnberg supporters. I personally do understand both sides...

About the sportive situation: I think that FCN will need 5-7 points (depends on your guys from BVB, too) out of the last 3 games against Duisburg, Hertha and Schalke in order to keep the league. Not really easy, but possible.

No one I've talked to or read understands both sides besides you and my friend Willie (huge FCN fan), but I definitely respect your opinions.

I will say that Galasek has defended Koller, saying he didn't understand the fans and Marc Wilmots wrote a column in today's "Kicker" saying Koller didn't deserve that treatment.

FCN fans didn't realize that Jan Koller is and will always be a beloved figure in Dortmund?

As I said, I could better understand their fury if Koller had played a crappy match on top of it. However, he was their best player by far on Friday.

But again, I know my opinion isn't the only one. As I understand Koller, I should try to understand the FCN fans, but I can't.

I didn't get upset when the HSV fans greeted Doll well and neither did our fans in the stadium. And you know I don't like him. ;)

Dude, I just feel that Hertha and Schalke aren't going to do FCN any favors. I could see FCN going to Berlin and winning, but I just don't see them beating Schalke on that final day. We don't have a good record historically in Bielefeld and I think some of our players are already on vacation and some of them seem to believe Doll is already history. I think the best we'll come out of Bielefeld with is a draw. And I don't think we are out of the relegation battle just yet. We need to get at least a point in two of the final three matches in my opinion.

If Duisburg beats FCN tomorrow night, they could climb out.

Bielefeld plays Bayern tomorrow night and Bayern has nothing to play for.

Duisburg plays Bayern at home the following week. Again, Bayern has nothing to play for, while Bielefeld hosts Dortmund, where again, Dortmund does not have a good record historically.

I think FCN, Duisburg and Bielefeld will all lose on the final day. Again, FCN hosts Schalke, who should still be fighting for second place, Duisburg goes to Frankfurt, who will want to end their season on a good note in front of their fans and Bielefeld goes to Stuttgart, who will still be trying to hold off Leverkusen for the third spot.

Dortmund? They will host Wolfsburg on the final day, who, after their goalless draw with Bayern, would need to win out and get some help to challenge Leverkusen and Stuttgart for fifty.

Basically, while I realize Dortmund could very well fall back into this thing and might not win again this season, I don't expect and of the other three teams between Dortmund and FCN to win all three of their remaining matches.

FCN? I think they would need too much help to save themselves. I don't even think they will do the job themselves. The fans didn't endear themselves to the team with that display on Friday night. One guy who has always been a good FCN source for me says more than one FCN player is upset about what happened Friday night and that some players have even said they are playing for themselves.

Since nothing has come out about that, I take it with a grain of salt, but I will tell you this guy has rarely been wrong with news he's given me from FCN over the years.

I think there will be some changes. I think Dortmund will fall dangerously close to the bottom three, but not into it.

I left Cottbus out for a reason. Why?

I think Duisburg and Bielefeld have the best chances to save themselves despite Cottbus having three more points than Duisburg right now and being four goals ahead of Bielefeld.

Why?

I think Cottbus peaked too soon. Yes, they played Werder tough on Saturday, but I think their fate rests on their match in Karlsruhe tomorrow. If they can take three points from that, I think they will be safe. However, if they don't, they host HSV on the weekend and HSV will be trying to stay in the fourth slot.

They go to Hannover on the final day and I hate to pick any team trying to win away from home on the final day of any season.

The only home team I ever knew would blow a final match at home was that 1998/1999 FCN team who lost to Freiburg because they went into the match thinking they were already safe. Their heads were too f#cking big.

Remember that? Friedel Rausch told them to go out and win the match, they played the match like they were already on vacation and after Frankfurt beat FCK 5-1, Frankfurt stayed in the 1. Liga on those four goals they beat FCK by and FCN got relegated.

That's why I never bet against teams at home on the final day. I always think only FCN and BVB (1-1 with Cottbus at home on the final match of the 2002/2003 season to blow a CL spot) were stupid enough to blow one of these final matches at home.

Yes, I know, not every home team wins the final match at home, especially if they have nothing to play for. However, I think the majority of them want to send their fans into the summer with a victory.

And I think teams who host a better opponent and the opponent has something to play for won't win these matches.

Which will definitely be FCN on the final day hosting Schalke......

Yes Uwe, FCN does have a shot mathematically. But they MUST beat Duisburg tomorrow night.

Despite my rage at those classless young fans, I will have that match on and rooting for FCN. I can be angry, but I won't bring myself to cheer against them.

I'll watch Saturday's Konferenz in Erlangen at my friend's pub (The Dartmoor Inn) as Saturday is my birthday and I'll be spending it up at the Erlanger Bergkirchweih (http://www.der-berg-ruft.de/) after the Bundesliga matches are over.

I'm pretty sure he'll have one TV on the Konferenz and the other on the FCN match. Will be fun!!

I think FCN is done, but if they can beat Duisburg and win in Berlin, then yes, everything is open depending on what Bielefeld does in Munich and what Dortmund does in Bielefeld. :o

Oh, there's a reason I left Rostock out too. I think they have already given up.

About the Koller issue: I think it's no problem to celebrate with your former fans after a "normal" match ... but in the current situation of FCN, it would have been better if he didn't do the "laola" in front of the own frustrated fans.

Again, I do respect your opinion here, but I just don't agree. I don't think being a "frustrated fan" should stop one from seeing the big picture. If they want to call him a f#cking asshole in forums, etc, no problem. But I cannot understand what they did in that stadium on Friday night.

Especially when the guy in question was clearly their best player on the pitch that night.

Same with me and Doll. I call him those things in this forum and I would to his face in a private discussion.

But I wouldn't do it in public and in front of the TV cameras.
