I have to agree with you on this one. I read that and thought "WTF??", how racist was that f*cking statement, to generalize all of us Germans?? Not cool.

You know, I didn't think "racist", but yeah, that's pretty much what that was......

And I can't speak for ALL Clubberer, but of all the Clubfans I know, myself included, we're not the type that go around bragging and talking shit when we win, that's generally not our style. We're pretty modest, imo.

You weren't around last season then. There was plenty of shit-talking going on in Mittelfranken! LOL!! ;)

And I love your "slap and run away like a little girl" comment. :D

I was actually worried that might offend you. Thanks!

Well I was always around, maybe not here on these forums, but I was born a Clubberer. :D What I meant was that generally, as I'm sure you know, we don't normally do that....but every fanbase has their bragging moments I suppose.

And the slap-and-run-away-like-a-girl comment wouldn't offend me...you've never seen me play sports.....it's not exactly girl-like, LOL... after all, I've been a Jens Lehmann fan since I was a little girl, and emulated all his ...what's the word I am looking for....feistiness?? so I guess I can get rather feisty on the pitch.

Besides, being what seems to be the only female Clubberer around here, if I can't handle you boys being boys, I wouldn't be here. ;)

Okej, enough from me, I need to get my ass moving before I am late for work...

Either way, this is my last word on the Meyer thing. You can continue to bitch and moan all you like, but what's done is done.

Hence, I won't talk about this topic either. However, I still have the impression that you didn't check why and what I criticised...

Btw: My brother still supports the team and didn't sell his Benfica ticket (how initially intended in rage).

Posting this to all 3 german clubs facing the portuguese:

"It's my impression or the germans like to go to the opponent's forum and brag about their victories or be sore losers (Nuremberg fan(?) saying that Benfica didn't impress him for eg)."

If you should mean my comments in the Benfica and Braga threads, then I'd recommend you to read them again in order to finally check them ... before talking about things like "bragging about victories" and "sore losers"! If there's any sore losers, you will find them in the Braga thread...

Btw: There are still tickets available for the game on Thursday, since Benfica has sent back plenties of tickets for the away sector!

best of luck for tonight! I´m sure your team is able to make it!

It's gonna be tough (especially without Misimovic, Mintal and Kluge) ... but they have nothing to lose in contrast to Benfica, so all should be possible tonight.

I heard that Vittek might give his comeback (I suppose he'll come in after the interval) in this game.

Nuremberg with the expected problems in the midfield (Benfica is clearly better on this position tonight) ... nevertheless they had 3 big opportunities to score (2x Charisteas and Saenko)! Don't think they will get again many of them after the interval...

Benfica with 2 big chances as well (favoured by typical mistakes of the FCN defence), but it's still 0:0 after 45 minutes.

Just curious whether Mintal & Vittek will have their comeback in the 2nd half...

2:0 after 67 minutes. Charisteas & Saenko scored in the 2nd half

F*ck, two goals in the last minute: 2-2.

That is typical FCN. I think "Borussia" knows that. I'm still proud of them. I expected Benfica to kick their asses both times and they came within four minutes of pulling it off.

And if they can build on that performance, they will begin to win some of these matches.

I could see the difference in that team. They played harder, but didn't finish as usual.

TvH will get that out of them.

First of all he has a lot of work to do.
Playing well over a match and than getting 2 against goals
in the last minute and overtime is very tough.
He needs to work as a psychologist.
Some teams got down after such results, Bochum against Liege (Lüttich)
some years ago, other got stregthen out of such situation and get the will
to win (for example Bayern after the ManU match in 1999).
I hope Nuremberg is one of the last ones and can get something
postive out of it.

They reached more than expected as this is as you already wrote
something to be proud of. Good luck for FCN in future.

I agree, but that is also exactly what he's good at.

I saw a difference in them tonight. Perhaps it was just because it was the UEFA Cup, but I also saw that fight in TvH's Bielefeld teams too. Ivan Saenko said after the match that they need a day or so to put this match behind them and they will come out ready to play Cottbus on Sunday.

I believe him.....

Yep. Somehow I felt that they would concede a last-minute goal...
And the way it happened, was really so typical for this season: Berti Glauber, who was simply superb tonight, wants to clear the situation ... but hits Koller's face, the ball jumping exactly to Cardozo's feet. Then the Befinfica striker was so lucky to hit the ball perfectly, making it impossible for Blazek to save the shot! You simply can't have more bad luck in this situation...

But ok, that's football. However, it hurts since Nürnberg totally dominated Benfica after the interval and played as well as they did in the 2nd half against Alkmaar (Pinola's 30m shot off the post was incredible)! The defence was very strong, allowing the guests only 1 chance by Cardozo (who missed miserably) ... and then they suddenly conceded the 1:2 from nowhere. However, how mentioned before, that's typical for this season! The Fußballgott isn't a Clubberer anymore.

Nevertheless, the team & fans can be proud of this performance! They gave one of the UEFA Cup top teams a great fight and proved that even the Nr. 16 of the Bundesliga can compete on the international stage! Kudos for their good performance in their first international season after many years!

Man that sucks for Nuernberg! I can completely feel with them (as our situation last year was surprisingly similar) It sucks so bad if you dont really believe in it at the beginning but then get all pumped up during the game only to see it slipping away in the final minutes... :(
I think thats about as hard as football gets!
What can you do?! Best of luck for the Bundesliga tough!

Football can be very cruel sometimes. Thanks God it's only a game, though.

Annje, I hope you will get over this last-minute shocker as soon as possible. I know how you're suffering at the moment (my brother, who attended the match, wasn't accessible after the game when I called him on the cell phone)...

Thanks Uwe. Still very sad, because I wanted SO MUCH for a win for my boys. We really need SOMETHING right now to boost our team confidence and morale, and to remind the boys what they are fully capable of when we put our minds to it and fight. I was so happy to see my Ivan scoring though, that made for one very happy Annje-moment. :D

We'll see what happens against Cottbus - I don't think I even need to stress this but we NEED TO WIN (or at least freaking score something!) that, otherwise we're as good as f*ked I dare say...*schnief* ...

F*king relegation zone SUCKS, and I want our boys out of there, we deserve better than that, and we ARE better than that. :(
