Always a big game for me. I know that some say there is a thing with Millwall, but I've never been excited by that game. No, the real one for me has always been the Spurs game.
Last year we lost 2-3, but it was our turning point. This season I'd expected Spurs to be top club, but what do I know? I thought we had a great team with Cole, Carrick, PdC, JdeF, James and the rest.....look what happened.
The big question is, how many wounded soldiers will we have back in the front line?
I reckon we'll do ok. Our defence is holding up and with a stronger midfield, we could cause some problems for a rather shakey Tottenham defence. Midfield is, I think, the key: so, C'MON YOU IRONS........already. :D

The game is being shown live down here in Kiwiland, although at the ridiculous hour of 2.30am, the new recording thingy I bought last week can do the business for me!
C'mon you Irons!!!!!!!!!

We've got a lot of players on the cusp of returning to fitness.
I assume Mullins, Quashie and Ljungberg are available.
Is Nobby in South America? What about Parker - probably too soon for him. Did he play in that friendly against Soton?

Parker did play a full 90 mins in the friendly against Soton and he scored.
It was 4-3 last year with Tevez scoring his first goal.
I am looking forward to this match as well, although I don't expect it to be another 7 goal thriller.

I'll stick with the boring 0-0 prediction that worked so well for me against Derby

I'd love to hear Bent get the warm reception at UP he so rightfully deserves.

That's an interesting lineup. I would swap Boa with Ethers as Ethers has more of a natural width to his game. Also Boa's physical presence would serve us better tucked inside a bit.
I am not sure though if a derby game with Spurms is the time to start tinkering with the team. It looks good on paper but, as we all know, with West Ham this means nothing.
With a few new faces in their am i not sure where the passion for this occasion will come from. Last year we had Zamora and Noble, both of whom feel strongly for West Ham's cause and know how much this fixture means to the fans.
There is plenty of scope for booing that's for sure. Spurms will be booing Ljungberg whilst out fans will no doubt be booing Bent and Defoe.

I think that team is a very wild guess. I can see Parker starting and Freddie at best coming off the bench. One of Noble or Mullins will possible start in the middle with Parker.

First, I am sorry, but the thread says that last year we lost 2-3. It was, of course, 3-4.:o
Now, the team. I'm with scout on this; except that I can see Freddy getting a start. He played well for Sweden during the week and if someones legs won't go the whole 90 mins, then I'm all for starting them and seeing how long they do last for.
The team and the bench is beginning to look stronger and the midfield gives us so many options, with Bowyer and Faubert still to come back. Will Ashton start? I doubt it, but expect him to come off the bench.

I hope Freddie does get a start. I read that he has the flu, or is getting over it.
