Bryan Arguez just got called into a 11-day U-20 camp that will spend two weeks in argentina and will play Paraguay, Argentina, and Uraguay.

Good sign for a youngster that we have sunk alot of time and money into. Here's hoping that he shows well.

On top of this, I wanted to ask if anyone had any more info about the two U-18's from United's "Academy" that played with the national team at a tourny in france a few weeks back.

I'm pleased to see this, too.

But 'sank a lot of time and money'? One year of Generation adidas money? We're not talking Santino-esque type commitment here, now are we?

Anyone know where these games are? I would love to be able to go see them....

BTW, according to US Soccer (http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_3932166.html), Marco Etcheverry is one of the assistant coaches. Maybe he can do some scouting for United while he is here!

The games are in Buenos Aires.

Thanks / maybe I should have been a little more clear. I live in Buenos Aires, so I am wondering where in BA they are being played so I can go see them. ie, are they at Monumental or Ezeiza or....

I poked around the internets a bit and couldn't really find any info on the venue, sorry.

But it did become apparent during my quick research that Bryan will be one of the vets on this team as one of only two players called up to have been on the U-20 WC squad. So he should see alot of minutes.

I wonder if he'll see the field for DC United next season?

Sounds very promising I'm sure coach Nowak will give him some plaing time.

I'd bet we'll see Arguez getting minutes off the bench.

Perhaps United can have Veron come out to the camp to give the kid a few tips.

I would think that Bryan would be starting most if not all of the matches played. He's one of only 6 midfielders and the only midfielder on the team who played in canada over the summer.

What will be really interesting about this team is the fact that a 13 year old american forward by the name of Charles Renken was called up to play.

I meant he'll see some minutes coming off the bench for United.

Nowak is the coach of the U23's, Rongen's still the U20 coach.

Wait, what? There is a 13 year old on the team? Who is this kid???

IF I can figure out where the games are and IF they are open to the public (and IF they are not impossible to get to from work), I will give y'all a review of Arguez next week. Still asking around though, and the AFA website doesn't even acknowledge that they are playing the US yet.

LOL Thats probably not really official, more like a US soccer friend, there to throw out some coaching lol.

He's really there for coaching school, to get some classes before he gets his coaching license.

Hes gonna coach Oriente Petrolero in 2008 sometime i believe, or so says the bolivian media. :)

But yea dude, get on the ball and find out if you can catch the games and report on them! :)

Yup, Charles Renkin...check the youth national team boards (not as insane as the boards for the senior nats) supposed to be the 2nd coming of Adu...some similarities there...perhaps you notice a number of players born in the 90's on that list. Interesting.

Except have you noticed that there is little/no hype for this kid?

Glad to see that this kid doesn't have to live with such massive expectations.
