I know we have a good start and we have reason for optimism but let's not get ahead of ourselves here....Let's take one game at a time. And can you please change the title of the thread??? We are nobody's daddy as far as I'm concerned.

I agree the name of the thread should be changed, even though i love to remember that day in club Chipcha i find it a little disrespectful towards the Peruvians that come and visit our forums, besides this was a few years back already and Peru should not be taken lightly.

but yea Peru shouldnt be taken lightly but they are still one notch lower than us.

for the game left in the 1st round of qualifiers I am just nervous about Paraguay but we have beaten them the 2 times we played them at home in friendlies.... hope we can pull out a W because I dont think we will win the last game of qualifiers in Paraguay with that scarey offense they have

and Chile away might be a little tough too. 2 ties against these teams wouldnt be so bad if we beat Peru,Ecuador(away) and Uruguay at home

leaving us with 19 points half way threw qualifers :)

With those players out I think the natural subs are:

Zapata for Aquivaldo
Valencia for Amaya
Falcao for Renteria

And I don't really see a drop off in talent in any of those. Though we'd def miss Aquivaldo's leadership.

I like ur Changes but I think it should be Cristian Zapata-Josimer Mosquera should be our CBS and in the next few friendlies they are the ones who we should be using in this spot

Valencia/Toja/Guarin/Robayo/JC Escobar are DMs that need to be given more shots in friendlies

Falcao/Dayro are the same type of player... who ever is doing better starts

Renteria/Rodagella are similar type striker, so natural replacement is Rodagella

tho we need to use different strikers in friendlies and most of all need to be working on team chemistry and Pinto needs to stop ********ing around with the formations what the funk is a 4-3-2-1 !!! sounds like a wrestling move

I want to see Peru today. The tie wont help them. They need a win, and in Quito that ain't easy. last wcq that game was 0-0. i remember the 2-0 last time in Lima, Grisales came up big in that game as well.

They will come out ridiculously fired up in June trying to revert this. Pinto will have to plan carefully and hopefully Zapata will be up to the challenge!

I wonder with Pinto's obsession with altitude whether he's got something cooked up to get us ready to travel to Ecuador only a few days after being in Lima. Do those oxygen chambers and masks travel?

I dont think Peru is playing this poorly because of low self esteem, I think they are playing like this because this is their actual level. Remember that friendly against them in Peru where we tied them 2-2 I believe. We had a HORRIBLE game, while Peru gave it their %110 simply to tie the game..

If we dont get at least a point out of them in Lima or wherever we play, I will be very disappointed :(

I think I'd go with:

Subs: Zuniga, Grisales, Rodallega, Rufay, Amaranto

I think Walter will be fine against the Peruvian strike force, and Zapata/Sanchez/Valencia can focus on "the Seal."

I sincerely hope Soto can make it back in the side because of his ability and great play against Peru and Ecuador in the last qualifiers as well.

Falcao can play alone upfront, as centreforward or as a pace striker - so I think he'd have no trouble playing beside Dayro and we'll have loads of speed up front in this formation.

Play on the wings will be key in this game, as a I remember Oviedo, Grisales and Murillo tearing apart the Peruvian fullbacks four years ago - with Dayro coming in from wide positions, and Soto/Torres bringing providing width I think this could work. Zuniga would also be a fine option at RW too.

yea def should get the W against Peru, we play'd badly against them in Lima in the friendly, didnt have bustos, think guarin was red carded early and still Zapata screw'd us with his suckiness

Si, las bandas siempre le duelen a Peru. Zuñiga tiene el potencial de enloquecer a los Peruanos completamente.

Hay que esperar a ver si Soto tiene buen nivel cuando sea tiempo de convocar los jugadores.

Bustos no esta sancionado para ese partido? el recibio 2 amarillas durante esta ronda no? Si Bustos esta abilitado, Peru esta jodido, porque el le da otra dimension a el ataque colombiano que no creo que ellos sean capaces de contener.
