Shame really. He's a quality #2, and I think he's probably more important than what a lot of people think he is to Everton. Good luck to him.

Brian Kidd would be a great acquisition. Shame Irvines gone though, I really liked him though! He always moved to Preston in my FM07 games too!

Everton will miss his presence, but I wouldn't say "it's a shame" that Irvine is moving on.

I expect Moyes was active in getting Irvine considered for manager by various clubs.

And would have been disappointed if Alan didn't get his chance at managing a team.

Hate to break up a working team, but good for Irvine for getting a shot at his own gig. He must have something going for him if people are asking about him.

He's pretty old no? I've heard United fans saying the game has passed him by. :-/
