So, we've got smpfi's banner, plus the two bigger ones, plus Dan's sea-of-two-pole idea.
If you've got other ideas, talk. Pics recommended.

I've been pitching this one to Tony (Delle Alpi) for ages already, but that's the Estonian flag. If we got a shitload of 3x5 size, I think it would look amazing come opening day. There's a site that was selling them for 8 a pop that I saw, so not killer cost either.

I know a flag supplier maybe we can customize them instead of the stripes going horizontally we can get them made vertical. I could check and see how much they would want for a custom flag. We may get a good deal if we buy in bulk.

Watched the MLS Cup Final, and saw something like this from the Houston Fans...would be cool if it was blue. I may be down to give it a try, after considerable testing at home. Wouldn't want to put anybody in real danger.

Tony, see how much would they cost to have them custom made. But I believe we can make them on our own. It would be much cheaper. We just need the fabric. We done that in the past, and they came out looking awesome. We made 10 flags in one night. Easy process. Too bad the old Spartan security took them away from us.
Let's talk about smoke bombs using PM .We don't want the discussion to degenarate, and start new arguments with people who think smoke bombs are deadly.

If you guys know how to make them then lets go that route. We can make a few different designs maybe diagonal striping as well. I'm willing to help out withe labor. Yeah lets keep that off the board that could get ugly. Plus I don't think they are going to let us anyway. Leon and I have been PMing about trying to setup a meeting with the front office to find out where they are at.

Honestly, I don't think that any MLS club's FO has a policy allowing smoke bombs. But some of them close their eyes and let their fans get away with it. As long as they are handled by responsible people and they don't get thrown onto the field or on opposing fans, they should be ok. We will see

I agree and when we met with Alioto he said that when the new place opens that might be what happens. But since Buck Shaw is on a college campus we need to be aware that it is out of the FO's control.

Ya...I totally understand. The last thing I want would be getting myself or us or whoever banned from the stadium or something. I'll tread lightly.

Do you have any shots of the homemade flags? It would be good to see what the end product looked like.
Also, looks like we'll get some financial help on buying/making flags.

And just thinking about it, should we get a new 1906 banner of some kind? The old one is kind of small and very Vics specific. Also pretty intricate design, so maybe not good for TV broadcasts so much.
On the other hand, as Dan said in the other thread, the cost of a banner equals a lot of flags and other tifo material that could have been bought.

Let me talk to smurf about the banner. Mayber we can get a new one done, he has done a great job on all our past stuff.

An example of how a section full of simple, regular size, easy to make flags would look like. This is part of a tifo (the flags are made only for one game). The flags we are going to use on regular bases can be more complex, larger, with a fancier design.

Hey what about our own big ass flag for after goals. Should we look into designing and getting a really good one made. Also how big should it be?

I honestly think something like that with an assload of smaller flags going after a goal would look way better. And something visually to set the two groups apart.

True but the flag could also be 1906/Ultra specific in nature. either way just throwing out different ideas.

Yah, we are def going to get a giant flag to cover our section after every goal too. That will be a complex job though. More expensive, and probably needs to be ordered. We can use that for the goals, while flags...we can use them anytime of the game.

I know Chivas and Toronto have homemade overheads at the least, so it's definitely doable.

So where to go from here?
I know from reading the Section 8 Boards circa 2001, they started pooling money together and finnaly got their sh!t done nice.
I dont know if we want to go that route, or just start collecting designs for homemade projects.
Oh yeah, don't forget the snake.
