In the case of Holland & Croatia losses and a Germany win, we could qualify for pot A in the Euro 2008 drawing system. As that wouldn't be "ideal", I don't mind seeing a draw in Frankfurt on Wednesday. Normally you always hope for a national team victory ... but this time I'd only go for a win if we get to know that Holland didn't lose their game in Minsk!

Don't tell me Jogi is going to start Poldi alongside Klose on top again. He worked so well as a winger!!

I don't see Holland losing to a team, which has lost to Luxembourg.

He might have worked well as a winger ... but that doesn't mean that he isn't a striker anymore (did you forget the WC 2006?)!

You never know. If the Dutch badly want to avoid pot A, I wouldn't be surprised to see them losing the game (take a look at the Croatians in Macedonia last Saturday).
At least it wouldn't be bad to know the Holland result before we start...

Of course, he had a wonderful WC but why not see where this goes? Especially since Gomez is back to form. I'm not saying Podolski should be turned into a winger indefinetley but I don't see why he shouldn't be tried in that position one more time after last games results.

We don't know how Löw is going to decide on Wednesday. The current "Kicker" line-up surely isn't decisive, so let's wait up.

So they surely are going to celebrate their surprising draw as if they had won the World Cup! ;)

From the look of Saturday's game it might be really hard work to keep Poldi from scoring and Lehmann won't give up the box without a fight either. I see us landing in pot A but I wouldn't mind a draw, not at all.
Can we get an easy group as well if we finish on top? It is not like we are doomed to get the group of horror, right? And if we finish second we could get a difficult draw as well in the end. :(

if netherland win or draw, they will get in pot A regardless of germany result. I can't believe I'm saying this but, I hope netherlands win.

I think we'll be put in the group of death once again no matter what happens.

But why is that? Don't we have the better goal difference? I think I missed something again. :o
Whatever it is, I would be more than happy if the Netherlands would end up in the pot of doom.

So what if Germany ends up in pot A? In a major tournament sooner or later you'll have to play with the big teams anyway, and I'd rather see Germany face difficult opponents than theoritically easy ones.

I am almost certain that Jogi and Andi Köpke both stated that Jens would be the starting keeper against Wales. Which is a good thing, given the performances he has had lately, he is focused and knows what he has to do.
But even with Jens in goal, we need the rest of the boys to be be in strong defensive and offensive mode. Hopefully Jogi selects a starting lineup that immediately puts the attack on strong and keeps it that way. I have a feeling that Wales might be outwardly seeking revenge since the last match against us, where they talked alot of s**t about how they were going to thrash us, and if anyone else remembers that game, it was anything but a Welsh-handed thrashing.
But as long as our boys' heads are in the game and they are focused, we can defeat Wales easily.

Do you remember how we did in the "groups of death" in 2000 and 2004? We didn't even manage to pass them...
It's a lot tougher to go through an EC group than through a WC group ... and failing again at the group stage would surely be a "little disaster" for Germany!
However, it seems that everybody (Löw, Bierhoff, the players) is going for a win tomorrow ... no matter how the Dutch will play. This is a good attitude towards the fans at stadium, of course ... but it could also bring us another "group of death" (with Holland, Italy and France i.e.) under certain circumstances!
I'm really curious how the team will react in the case of a Dutch defeat in Belarus. Let's hope that Holland will do us a favour:-)

"Kicker" has already changed its line-up to @ ForeverRed's favour. ;)

You have a point here, but....
-in 2000 the team was total crap, actually it was a bit surprising to qualify for the tournament in the first place and normally they wouldn't manage anything even if they were in another group
-in 2004 it was a goalless draw against Latvia in the 2nd match that pretty much destroyed the chances of qualification
And besides that, I believe that the current team is way better than the ones in the previews 2 Euro tournaments, and I think it would be better to prove it soundly.

wow...you hoped Netherland will win:)...i think dutch people would like you for this..
personally i think, it does not matter if Holland is in our group or not...I think we can beat them...the earlier, the better..but to be honest, I would much rather to meet them in later stage in the quarterfinal or round 16 ...maybe we can kick them out :)...hops..hope my dutch friends are not around...
i think our boys will have great game tomorrow and i think they will win
Jogi Löw said in one interview that he thought that Czechs would lose in Cyprus...:)..it was his prediction.
let see what happens..
we are qualified..so we can take it easy.

believe me, I wish I didn't have to hope for a dutch win. That's the last thing I normally want to do. :D But We need to avoid pot A at all cost. To those who says "I don't care who we play. We'll have to play stronger team at one point anyway". Yeah, but it's better to play stronger teams at later rounds after you've played inferior opponents and worked out all your kinks.
