Did anyone see the new Adidas soccer commercial that aired last night during the Man U vs. Celtic match on Fox Sports World? Of all the soccer commercials that Adidas has put out over the years, that had to have been one of the best. It blew away the new Nike soccer commercial that also aired last night.

The commercial had all of the Major Soccer Stars that Adidas sponsors. Beckham, Ballack, Kahn,, Raul, and Zidane. Each of them were training, and one thing that was interesting was that each of them were training in their team jerseys except for Beckham. I think the commercial was shot about 4 months ago. I would assume that they had to delete some footage of Beckham in his Man U jersey and reshoot him in just standard Adidas soccer apparel.

What exactly made the addidas commercial so good? I was at the ManU game and they showed the nike commercial with the crazy footwork which I thought was very cool.

I still like the four-minute long original version of the Nike cage tournament. I just loved the last line, too -- "loserrrrrr, go home! Good bye!"

United are a Nike team so there is no-way that Adidas would show him playing in their kit even if he hadn't moved to Madrid. The other players all play for Adidas teams.

New Nike commerical where they dribble random people on the streets:

The adidas commercial was fantastic. Zidane weaving and spinning was the best part.

Hey, I liked the commercials, too. But I can think of at least five right off the top of my head that were far better/cooler.
1. The Cage commercial (Nike)
Especially the full, extended version. I can watch that for days and jam to that Elvis track.
2. Madrid/United Wild West Showdown (Pepsi)
Beckham's horse beats Iker with a hell of a shot.
3. Brazil national team at the airport (Nike)
Old-school commercial here, has Brazilians weaving and dribbling through airport traffic. Ronaldo clanks the post at the end, classic.
4. GeoForce takeover commercial (Nike)
This one's like a damn movie. Davids, Totti, Bierhoff, Figo, others infiltrate a compound run by robots to save (gasp!) a Nike soccer ball. Finishes with massive explosion.
5. Freestyle (Nike)
A takeoff from the basketball commercial, players do cool-ass ************ with the ball to a heavy beat. Dancing from Ronaldinho, antics from Mendieta, Totti, etc.
That's just a FEW of the commercials that blow away what we saw last night. And I even forgot the hilarious "footballitis" Adidas commercials from the World Cup.

I loved the old Nike one where they fought the demons. They had a couple of versions (even a US one with players like Joe-Max and I can't remember who else.) But I was blown away when I saw on some commercial awards show the full length thing that I never saw on regular television. It was unbelievable and about five minutes long. It told the whole story about how on a dark day a team of men was assembled to play some evil or something or other and then showed some extra footage of the stadium ( kind of like galatasaray, the whole welcome to hell sort of thing, the demons were definitely the home team) and the team bouncing balls around in the locker room before cutting to the game footage, which most of you probably saw. although it actually showed about three minutes of play on the full version.
I also really loved the France '98 commercial that came out just after the Brazil airport one with a bunch of players like Ronaldo and Ba playing sand soccer on the beach in Rio.

The Brazil one in the airport is classic. My mom started to like soccer because of that commercial. Her exact words: "That number 9 is really cute". Oh memories....
The one with the team playing devils is the first soccer commericial I can remember seeing. It's classic, especially with Cantona in the end putting it through the devil's chest.
I also love the freestyle one - makes my mouth water just watching Ronaldinho.
The cage is my favorite though. Every time I hear "A Little Less Conversation" I instantly think of the World Cup....amazing stuff.

That one was directed by John Woo. Probably my favorite commercial of all time, soccer or otherwise.
