Let's start a thread dedicated to Oliver Bierhof (especially after his serious dispute with Rudi Völler lately).

What do you think about the dispute between Oliver Bierhoff and Rudi Völler?

I've always admired Rudi Völler (despite his numerous blindfold eruptions in the past), but this statement about his former team mate & player (2002) Bierhoff, who once scored 2 vital goals for Germany in the EC 1996 final at Wembley, is simply a shame in my eyes!

Unfortunately, Bierhoff's cocky approach to his either meaningless or undeserved position has annoyed me for years. It's perfectly fine that he is receiving a generous pension from the association, but he should shut up in public. The scary thing is that he may be around for decades, unless they find a way to "promote" him out of the limelight.
Kudos to Rudi Ranter :D
PS: He's wrong though regarding the issue at stake. We absolutely wouldn't be where we are without the changes the DFB has made in recent years.

Why should he shut up? He has a certain position at DFB and his criticism towards the Bundesliga clubs is totally backed by Jogi Löw (take a look at his interview from a few days ago)!
Rudi Völler is entitled to react on the criticism ... but definitely not in such an offending way! Oliver Bierhoff scored the most goals of a German player in Seria A and won the Scudetto & EC 1996, so it's ridiculous to attest him a Malta level! As far as I remember, Rudi Völler wasn't the best technician either...

Yes, he has a certain position, and therefore he shouldn't respond to a rant with a rant. He's done this repeatedly. And he always wants influence of which he isn't deserving. He's just too cocky. Jogi has the both the authority and the diplomatic skills to criticise the clubs.

Hey, are you Uli Hoeneß or Kalle Rummenigge in disguise? :p
Btw: It's not about having the right to criticize or not ... it's about the way you do it! Völler is entitled to critisize Bierhoff as well - but please without offending him!

No. These two are totally into responding to a rant with a rant :D
Rummenigge would say in Völler's position: That I'm blasting him only shows I'm his friend.

I think you agree with me that Völler's statement is totally unacceptable, though.

well I can not express my opinion on this...cause I know Rudi Völler..he lives in Leverkusen
and I met him few times....I´m fan of both Bierhoff and Völler...Maybe Rudi was even too hard with his opinion on Bierhoff ...Bierhoff was big contribution to german soccer and he still does good job...i would not critize him as Rudi did...uhp..hope Rudi did not read it:) ...otherwise he will fire me from the stadium:)

I fully agree with dh228.
I laughed when I read Rudi's quote and it was nice to see someone stood up against the man with the biggest mouth and the most unimportant role at DFB.

To be honest, I didn't expect another comment from a Bayern fan (for some good reason)...
Btw: Here's 2 more articles about this topic and an interesting comment from "Focus".

When you meet him next time, please tell him to attend a rhetoric course as soon as possible and to try thinking before talking in the future! :-)
He was everybody's darling until now, but with this incredible statement below the belt he lost at least my sympathies!

looks like Rudi Völler is not alone..now Hoeneß critizes Bierhoff as well:)

"Ich teile die Ansicht, dass Oliver Bierhoff immer ein bisschen besserwisserisch rüberkommt. Er will uns klarmachen, dass im Zuge der guten Erfolge der Nationalmannschaft alles gut für den Fußball aussieht. Ich glaube nicht, dass er Rudi Völler oder mir ein X für ein U vormachen kann. Er wäre gut beraten, diese permanenten Schlaumeiereien für sich zu behalten."

Maybe Rudi Völler should have told it in a bit softer way...but you know that Rudi Völler if he is mad, sometimes overact:)....do you remember his interview with TV moderator Waldemar Hartmann (after Game of German NT in Island).
"Du sitzt hier auf deinem Stuhl und hast drei Weizenbier getrunken und bist schön locker", und erklärte, dass er "diesen Scheißdreck nicht mehr hören" wolle. "
Hartmann took it with humor and answered:
"Also, in Island gibt es kein Weizenbier, ich bin auch kein Weizenbiertrinker"
P.S If i see him next time, I will let him know about "rhetoric course":)

generally I would say: National coach and manager should care of national team and Bundesliga coaches of their clubs..however there should be an effective communication between Bundesliga and National team - but there is no need for a one strategy...of course Bundesliga should support The national team..but both National team and Bundesliga should be free in their decision...
if Bundesliga is not doing well internationally, then we can blame coaches of the BL clubs:)

His criticism or should I say his words are not as harsh as Rudi's which is a shame :D Good thing you brought the Walder Hartmann scene, that was hilarious - but I have to say I felt sorry for Hartmann, he's a nice guy after all.

Please make your posts more clear and avoid the risk of people misunderstanding you which could lead to a rather meaningless discussion and a waste of time. I don't get where you're going at, and what the heck you're trying to tell me..

Ok, is it enough when I tell you that the Bayern officials & fans are no Bierhoff "friends"?
