DFB Pokal 3rd Round Matches [R]

According to today's edition (19 Nov 07) of "Kicker" magazine, the BVB v. Werder Bremen German Cup match will be televised on ARD.

Since it will be televised, I'd assume the match will be on 30 January.

"Kicker" reports both clubs will receive 679,000 Euros.

Good news for both sides, especially for BVB. I'm personally relieved that ARD was able to see past the obvious choice of showing Bayern on TV again.

As far as VfB is concerned, we couldn't have had it much better when we drawed BremenII. Should, in theory, be an easy pass to the next stage.

I hope the side concentrates a lot on the DFB Pokal, especially this season. With our European adventure having been a disaster and our poor start in the Bundesliga meaning it will be unlikely that we can challenge for anything higher than Uefa Cup spots, the Pokal presents an opportunity for us to try and get something great out of this season - I always love to dream about a ticket to the final in Berlin haha.

And Aachen will have a new coach. They fired Guido Buchwald today. According to DSF, Joerg Schmadtke, the Sport Director, will run the team until the winter break.

I think they should re-hire Michael Frontzeck myself.......
