How the hell did they get that thing into the stadium, and how can we get one?

That was like a thousand smoke bombs going off at once. Awe inspiring.

Awe inspiring? Agreed. But I wasn't really happy breathing the pottasium chlorate! Neither was the guy with the baby sitting near me. He wrapped a cloth around the kid's mouth and carried it out.

If anyone knows about the chemistry and safety of those particulates, I'd like to know.

that's normal smoke bomb that's used elsewhere in the world.

People cry about our little ones, they'd probably go in mass histeria about regular ones :D

i work in the AV industry and we supply and install smoke machine's for clubs etc.

not sure what kind of smoke machine/generator was at the match but this file is from the standard smoke fluid used in most martin/jem smoke machines.

Me and my bro-in-law were wondering if srdan was trolling over there to see how to get one.

That was definitely not a "normal smoke bomb". Whatever they were using was awesome. For one, the smoke was orange and two, it was shot straight up which I think helped with the being able to breathe .
If smoke is a part of DCU's future, someone invest in whatever they were using.
The smell wasn't nearly as awful as the smoke bombs either.

Yep. The most important thing was the feeling in the back of my throat was not as offended as normal. My son was so impressed by the smoke shooting up that he was taking pictures of it.

The smell wasn't as bad, either. I know that it drifted towards the back of the stands, so I didn't get it full blast, but the smell was different from our normal smoke bombs. It was less irritating (in the literal sense, I actually love the smell of our smoke bombs).

From my vantage point, it looked like the smoke was forcefully expelled upwards. So cool. I am so ready to buy one of those things. Someone, please post what that was and where we can buy one!

erm it was normal, that's type we use in Croatia since I saw canister. It's orange because it's signal/cover smoke (not cos of Houston hehe) and it shot up cos it goes under higher pressure :) Dunno about smoke, I had bandana over my face since Solomon and I were standing foot away from it at that time.

I've always knew where to get them Crimson but they produce a lot of smoke and last long time... unless that fire marshall guy forgets about RFK eventually now that Nats are gone :)

In our post game thread it was posted that it was a fire extinguisher. I wasn't there so I'm not sure.

edit: for the white "smoke". Not the orange obviously.

Ya, my friend and I speculated that orange stuff was used for popping-smoke, for soldiers in need of a dust-off.

So, I guess someone needs to check out a Military Surplus store.

It was not a machine. We had lots of the regular smaller smoke, but the first one that was set off after the equalizer was a big (military grade I think) one that shot up about 3 feet in the air before dispersing. In this picture I am the tallest guy there about 2 rows behind the guy with his hand in the air and I was able to stand 2 feet from the bomb and squat down to breath. It was much different than the one we set off in Frisco where nobody could stand within 5 feet of it without coughing. I am not saying it was pleasant, but it was to a point where I did not have to walk off.

Definately not a normal smoke bomb. i was behind them. The first one set off was a white (probably military grade) one and the one set off just beside that and a little at the end of the first crazy one was orange, this made the white smoke look orange too. you could see the difference in the kinds used. the one was shooting it out and the other looked like it was trickling out.

Very nicely done!

I think the smell was weaker for people near the smoke because it shot up so high in the air, but for the rest of us on the loud side, the stench was pretty strong, and it lasted for a long time. Personally, I hope that doesn't become a regular feature at games.

Fair enough. Let's just enjoy it for the novelty it was.
