How many possibilities there are that in MLS 2010 New York City will be chosen as 18th team ? Are they more that 50% ?
GO WILPON !!!!

I think there is a good chance that it can happen. The Mets new stadium is almost built and will be ready for 2009. If they modify Shea it can be ready for 2010. It helps that they can just work with Shea instead of knocking it down and rebuilding it. Im not sure if that is what they are going to do but it would make sense. Were gonna work hard to help bring the team to NY! Bring some of the Napoli boys to the stadium haha.

You guys don't think Shea would be too wierd for a soccer field?
It's too circular, they'd have a lot of work on their hands, and for the money they would need to rebuild shea, they should just suck it up and build a SSS on the grounds.

I think they would just do alot of modifications.Take off the upper deck and close the outfield with more stands. It would take alot of mods but I think in the end it would be a SSS.

Now after looking at these two pics, tell me you cant play soccer at Shea?!?!?!
This is how Shea was configured to play football when the Jets played in Queens. Its perfect! Who was saying you couldnt play soccer in a baseball stadium?

Can you imagine yourself rocking the Stadium against the RBNJ? DC? Or even having an international friend or maybe even the continuation of the Copa Fiesta NYC which was won by Argentina when they romped Peru in 2004 @ Giants? Maybe a Man U - Chelsea. Whatever etc etc etc just good ole soccer.

If you took off the top part of the stadium (not that I think that they should) and reconfigured it like it used to be for the NFL. Then we have a SSS for half the price. Who needs new stadiums? What are we all girls and need soccer to be a catered affair? For the love of christ, kick the ball and lets chant. We dont need table service to the seats!!!

Hahaha exactly,i dont care how old the stadium is. Cut it down to 25-30k close up the outfield with stands, redo the outside and BAM........NYCFC Stadium lol<<<<<<<hopefully its that easy lol.

I would like everyone that views this boards to please take a good look of these pics. I can completely imagine a soccer field at Shea now. I've seen a soccer game at Shea but NOT with the reconfigured stands. With the setup in these pics I CAN COMPLETELY ENVISION Shea being a part of MLS!

Pros of using SHEA
1. Its already built
2. Green because there wont be any waste in building a new stadium.
3. Can join MLS almost immediately
4. Allows a landmark of Queens to remain standing
5. Could Groundshare with RBNJ, with a lower rent until RBP is finally built! LOL LOL LOL

Cons:
1. I cant think of any right now.

If they play at Shea and use the configuration shown by teorrero, then the Borough Boys should be at midfield bouncing those movable seats up and down like in DC.

NYMETROBULLS those seats move along a track underneath the stadium. They arent wooden bleachers. I had forgotten about this moveable configuration. I remembered it as I was looking for pics a couple of days ago. Will you be joining us as well?

It's really not that bad. Besides we could actually save the cost of a stadium for a while.

That can be the nickname! No matter what awful coporate name goes on the stadium we can call it "The Pit" haha.

I think that we must hope that for the 31st January 2008 will be selected the 16th MLS team ( Philly or St Louis ) for 2009 MLS, so that in 2009 will they be selected the other 2 teams for the 2010 MLS (17th team : Philly or St Louis ;18 team : NEW YORK CITY of course !!!). Is it right my talk ?
