So how would you people react to this 'theoretical' situation?

+ A girl (named 'A') likes you, and people continually tell you that she does.
+ You then hint to her that the feelings may be mutual, but she suddenly turns awkward...leaving you thinking that you should just leave it.
+ You ask her friend ('B') (who she has been hanging around with a lot lately) what the situation is, and you are told that you must have been fed misinformation.
+ Two days later, you hook up with the friend (B), thinking that your chances with A are completely over. Suddenly the girl (A) walks in on the two of you and goes home crying.


So in theory, the friend told you shit, and hooks up with you, knowing that it will ruin any chances of what you really wanted...

What would you do?
