I ony know Berger still alive coz chicks still would happily kill me to get the number of a guy who has his fax number....
Veron is THE WORST waste of money ever, I mean the guy plays liek frikkin Guti, try as many ridiculous passes as he does and u guna end up with a few highlights, but they both lose the ball so much it's irrelevant coz they prolly cost u more goals than they create, plus neither have any desire to do anything about their mistakes (bar the odd petulant dirty synical fouls)
Djemba^2 was quality, he played a difficult role in one of the worst Man U teams in a decade, I always feel that guy was hard done by

I think that Carrick is a player who just gets on and does the job. He has good games and he has bad games. But he can sometimes play a pass that will change the game. Personally i would like him to get a few more goals then i think he'll be more of a complete player.
Alan Smith ... I think he got a bit of a raw deal at United. He was played out of position most of the time then he had that bad injury at Liverpool and after that kinda got left out in the cold. When he played in his natural strikers position for us though he was quality. I don't think he was ever going to be a united regular but when he came on he did the job for us. I think him moving to Newcastle was the best thing for his career though because he was always going to be a united fringe player.

bruno cheyrou anyone?
Ah yes, the next Zidane!
It's funny watching the French League hiltes or matches every week. In every match you'll see EPL rejects.
Cheyrou often pops up, and when I watched a match a fortnight ago, Bellion scored twice and was close to a hat-trick. He also seems to have lost a lot of his pace. He really is much slower now.
May I just add something to this conversation...Lionel MESSI! Holy cow. This guy is just getting better and better. It's getting scary. I've never seen a player accelerate at his own will, with the ball staying so close to his feet. It just seems so easy for him. I think he is THE new Maradona.

I'd like to see Carrick RUN a bit more , and not just stand in the middle of the field like a post. Liverpool has one player like that. I think his name is Peter Crouch. How ironic.
Anyways, Carrick needs to learn how to move the ball around more. He clearly needs to develop his vision.
Alan Smith : For me, it was Becks, RVN and Alan Smith. He reminded me of Keane. Tough, no nonsense, and never afraid of going into a challenge. I think Fergie was trying to turn him into the next Keano. I was the happiest person around when he scored in the 7-1 drubbing of Roma. God knows he deserved it! And such an impact in his first few games for United too! Wondergoals. Too bad about that broken leg. He would have become something else, if that didn't happen.

antonio nunez....
EDIT actually I've no idea if nunez was houillier or benitez, then I dunno which one either is and can tell neither apart from Christian Gross for some perculiar reason...
Carrick is right up there with the best holding ball players in the prem. He should score more goals and when he does it's baffling he doesn't score more with the ease he can do it. He often suffers from playing in a disjointed team of indiiduals with little cohesion, simply relian on individual talents to get them through games. Rarely has he had a dedicated let alone complementary CM alongside him. Not worth that money but again Man U gonna pay of the odds esp within the prem....
EXCEPT in the instance of Smith, who they bought for accurate money when others were raping leeds like abramovich did USSR's natural resources.... I reckon they did this still indebted to Leeds for GIVING them Cantona for two bags of wotsits and a toffee crisp... Smith was never gonna be a starter for a CL contender, but u had to love his attitude and commitment. How anyone (esp a hardnut like himself) can get their leg proper snapped by a shot is worrying, even if it was an Arnie shot. I too was so glad when he scored on his 20th botched comeback, the guy deserved a pat on the back on the way out the door""

well arsenal have become a re-established club and now i think there is a good generation of english kids coming through that hopefully can match that man yoo generation
but what about toure for about 150k? hes up there with rio
theres as many arsenal as there are man u players that came cheap and made it good, in fact wenger has made profit on nearly every transfer except the likes of jeffers
man uts has wasted 10 times the money on flops than arsenal in the same period though
and o shae, wes brown and fletcher are hardly great players are they?
Are you sure? Last time I checked Toure was good, so how is Rio anywhere near him? :p

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - £1.5m
Best transfer, or bestest transfer ever?
I think he balances out Veron, Bellion, and Kleberson...
Jaap Stam and RvN were hardly unknowns when they moved to Manchester United, though.

Manchester United bought Roy Keane for £3.5m in 1993 and transfer fees skyrocketed from then.
Concerning Veron, I think Chelsea buying him was actually worse than United.
Also, for your Arsenal fans... Francis Jeffers.

i dont think pool got enough of a mention...a while back i was flipping through a magazine, i think it was 4-4-2, and it had all of their flops--there were quite a few. i cant speak very well on the subject, being that i dont really care about pool, but still...
