You forgot the best song:
You're worse than Robinson
You're worse than Robinson
You're worse than Robinson
You're worse than Robinson
I think I saw a tear shed. Also, in that pic it looks like he took some advice from that goalie in the Wickes advert and put some "No More Nails" on his gloves!!! CHEAT!! Worse than Young or Carew. What twats. Englishmen diving and getting booked for it. You need more foreigners...

Well I've just waited until 3AM in the morning for the replay of the match to come on - and it's not on damnit!!
In the meantime, I watched a Robert Pires tribute video on youtube, and you could say that I got a little teary eyed.
I've been told many times that I take my supporting of Arsenal too seriously - but as I get older, it's only getting worse. Last weekend I told a girl friend, who supports Man Utd, that I was arriving at a farewell party 2 hours late so that I could watch Arsenal vs Wigan, because Arsenal came before anything else in life. She argued that it was pathetic, and that friends should take preference. So I arrived at the meet on time, greeted everybody, and retreated upstairs to watch Arsenal win, and Man Utd lose. I duly came down stairs, shouting in her face, "3 points ahead, with a game in hand!" You can imagine what happened next...any guesses??

As always when I go away I need to report on new boot findings (but can't be arsed to post in the other threads individually). I actually held the v1.08's myself in the Puma outlet store in Portsmouth, and my single piece of advice is get some money, and buy AS MANY v1.06's AS POSSIBLE. They are CRAP!!
Pompey's Puma store did have blue v1's on sale for £50 each, but when you see Carew's boots you will see why I was glad I did not buy them - there's a massive wump out of the ankle where he's got studded and all the inner material has come out...not good. Also the legendary toe-tearing happened to him too!!!
The adidas store was better, they had the Blue DB's for £50 along with the white DB's. They also had the Shale F50.7 starter pack for £65, and if you bought that you could buy the X-32 uppers for £15 each, they had a few of those in, Ecuador's was nice among others.
The Nike shop near apps was amazing though. They had the navy MVIII's for £40, supremacies I've wanted for ages for £35, and if you bought two pairs you got the cheaper one half price. She will testify the incredible restraint I showed to not buy anything!!!
Among other things the highlight of my weekend was almost letting my "date" in Pompey beat me at bowling before my angry-winning persona took over and got three strikes to beat her by 5 points. YEAHHHHHHHH BOYZ RULE!!!!!!! :p

yea bigg im sure all the english goon players hated the abuse they gettin from the fans...didn't watch the game after goon equaliser, hope u biased about young diving as I liked the guy, be a shame if he got that as part of his deal...
College football tangent, LSU & USC both overrated to me as they have poo QBs, seriously think they (esp booty) ain't accurate enough to be dropback passers...also cannot get how that chump place-kicker at LSU has got such a bigtime job...

What is all this jargon above? I can't decipher it. I reckon we should talk about Flamini instead...

They didn't show his dive on MOTD. He went over in the area, looked at the ref, he told him to get up and Young went to run off, the ref called him back and booked him, he made like a "whatever" gesture with his hand and ran off. He knew he dived, he had been going over like a piece of floss all day and the ref kept getting conned and finally clocked when he dived in the 92nd minute. Well done Chris Foy. Twat.

Good idea there.
That goal was a rocket... my parents thought something died when I celebrated for that one.

how about number 1 & 2 both lose today? crazy season, and I honestly don't see too many qbs playing right now that I'm extremely impressed with day in and day out. Booty is well above Sanchez on USC, but not that great. White on West Virginia is a solid college qb since he's a scrambler, but that translates into a professional career once in a blue Moon(pun intended). Colt Brennan will be like Trent Dilfer.. lead the NCAA in all the career records, and never do anything in the pros. I think Tim Tebow is probably the best right now.

02 Dec 2007, 06:12 AM
Yea exactly, Tebow will get bank in the draft, I do feel he gets more recognition than many similar open-offence black qbs simply coz he white but he is a tank. I'd like to think Dennis Dixon has a shot but as we saw last week his bambi legs prolly make him too fragile for the league...
Our HC has West virginia links from his own playing days and there was an outside shot of myself going to the BCS game on his coattails, doesn't look like that'll happen now, nickel and dime came up 5 cents short! Glad im injured and not practicing today as im sure the session will reflect coaches frustration:eek:
Police phoned, other driver from lastnight survived, infact only had cuts and bruises!!! Lucky undeserving.....
As for Flamini, surprised the french p nev still gets a cheque at the emirates! tho yesterday does show perhaps he has better technique in front of goal than his english prototype....

Perhaps you should watch more Arsenal games before trying to insult someone who is fast becoming an excellent player. He made his debut for France in the last international break on merit of consistently good performances for the last two years, unlike Neville who is only in the England squad because he can play more than one position.
Mark my words, in five years time Flamini will be as good as, if not better than, Reno Gattuso, they don't call him that on the training ground for nothing!

I admit I don't watch an awful lot of goon, but to me p nev is, was and has always been very solid and decent, got loads of stick based on one awful tackle for england and a lack of flamboyance, but in terms of "do a job anywhere" versatility he's a prototype in this country. I've seen little of Flamini to suggest he's any more than this, and defn. the way Wenger treated him as a leftback in the CL final season made me think he's your classic PNev john O'Shea, never gonna be first choice in the team he's in but competent enough a footballer to fill in anywhere, u may well be right given the times u've seen him, or perhaps u could be biased due to this, but to me in a team with fabrelous most players look like comparative jobsworths!
As for gattuso well he's just an angry PNev with more defensive savvy and a dirty attitude meaning he's not phased when he does mistime challenges....
Sorry for the offence bigg, I didn't know u guys were dating:p

He was very restrained. I was quite proud of him actually!!
That shops is a bit of an aladins cave if you have big feet. Everytime i go in there to boots get cheaper! Still can't believe that it opened where it actually has though because its the only decent shop there!
You did get your gloves though. Bargain for 2 pairs. I can't believe how good the navy MVIIIs looked! You were very well behaved!

case flamini is a quality 'ball hound'...england couldve done with someone of his unquestionable passion
at least he can stay fit, hes popping up with important goals and keeping silva and diarra out the team
and he cost nothing
so flamini>>>>hargreaves inflated transfer fee

Flamini could flame out, Hargreaves could end up as a legend, you can't really make this statement after he's played something like 6 matches for the club, and almost all of those less than 90 minute outings.
Also, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Wes Brown, John O'Shea, and Darren Fletcher cost Manchester United nothing so I think they're still coming out on top in that regard.

When you say play 6 matches, I assume you are referring to Hargreaves?
I don't really think it's worth discussing who gets more VFM from transfer fees. The money you paid for Veron means you lose that argument straight away :p

Unfortunately, Skizz has a point. I for one, was hoping they'd sell Keane and give Veron that position. Lord knows, it was his divine right.

well arsenal have become a re-established club and now i think there is a good generation of english kids coming through that hopefully can match that man yoo generation
but what about toure for about 150k? hes up there with rio
theres as many arsenal as there are man u players that came cheap and made it good, in fact wenger has made profit on nearly every transfer except the likes of jeffers
man uts has wasted 10 times the money on flops than arsenal in the same period though
and o shae, wes brown and fletcher are hardly great players are they?

Well, considering they came up through the youth ranks and all 3 of them are full internationals. I think they are pretty decent myself.

*Is embarrased for everyone involved*
Could it be that Man U are exploited for more by other clubs becoz of their traditionally established profile than arsenal? In talking in terms of players going in (no euro clubs pay decent money to the prem irregardless of club), just to me I feel clubs have believed they can inflate prices to Man U more than they have been doing to Goon, mebe Goon just wont stand for that BS or woteva the reasoning behind it, I just don't c Man U getting players with established reps (although arsenal do tend to avoid this) like Rosicky and Bergkamp etc back when fo cheap as goon have.
Similarly to the Ranieei era when clubs worldwide doubled asking prices to cheatski on the basis they could pay it....

United have certainly had some flops in the past! I'll be first to admit that. Here is a list :
Massimo Taibi
Karel Poborsky
Kleberson
Diego Forlan
David Bellion
Eric Djemba-Djemba
Juan Sebastian Veron
Mark Bosnich
Forlan never really hit the form he is capable of when he was at United. I think it was just a crisis of confidence considering it too him so long to score a goal for us. But he did put the ball past the scousers so he'll always be fondly remembered!
I'm a bit torn with Veron. I think he had his moments but certainly never played to his full potential. I wouldnt have got rid of Keano for him because he wasn't half the player Keano was.
Although we've had some flops though, Fegie has also signed some unknown players and turned them into house hold names over the past.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Patrice Evra
Nemanja Vidic
Jaap Stam
Ole Gunner Solskjaer
Ruud Van Nistelrooy
Peter Schmeichel
And you can't forget the home grown talent that United have developed over the years especially the likes of :
Ryan Giggs
David Beckham
Paul Scholes
Gary Neville
Phil Neville
Darren Fletcher
John O'Shea
Wes Brown
They are all great players that most clubs would want in there teams if they had the chance (maybe not Phil Neville :))
So i don't think we've done too bad. I just think that big names struggle when they first come to United because they feel they have so much to live upto. I certainly haven't decided about Owen Hargreaves yet. I mean, he hasn't played too many games for us yet this season. But i feel he can either go one of 2 ways. Greatness or that list of biggest flops! I just haven't been over impressed with what he's done when ive seen him play for us.
At the end of the day, all clubs have players that they think are going to be great before they sign them, when they do ... they just don't perform. It doesn't matter what team you are it happens everywhere!

Hahaha, i almost forgot when i was at the Villa v Arsenal game at the weekend Villa made a sub and brought on Patrick Berger and the bloke behind us went 'Berger?! Is he still alive?!!' it was so funny. But there are a lot of players you wonder if they are still alive. Harry Kewell is one of them!!
