Germany's away kits were green were that color because it was the DFB's official color... which still doesn't really make sense, but still. It was the official color of something.
But I guess the new "in" thing is colors coming out of someone's arse. Ex: Spain's gold away, France's red away, etc. They're just breaking from the monotony of the same-old same-old.

it might just be the fact that, with the exception of crotia's new kit and serbia's home kit, the nike kits in this thread are for the most part, blank, whereas in the world cup, they had something extra, design wise.
but turkey's and usa's away kit are cookie cutter.
holland away addied a small, but still minimalist and almost cookie cutter
portugal and serbia away are cookie cutter.
brazil's is a mixture of the two (collar of us/turkey with side accents of portugal/serbia).
serbia home and korea are the same template, but serbia has the large stripe- so not cookie cutter.
this is still better than puma, who are extremely cookie cutter. but is still back tracking from what nike did in the world cup, and behind what adidas has put out so far of new kits.
Oh I was referring to the World Cup Jerseys, I agree this new run of Nike kits are very similar and "cookie cut"

Did I miss something? I mean, can the Turkish explain to me the connection between the country and TEAL?
That is like Germany's old green away unis. "What?"
Turkey's flag is red and white, last time I checked.
I'm pretty sure some Turkey fans are fuming about it...
That was because following World War II the first team to accept a friendly vs Germany was Ireland so the Germans wore Green away as a thank you for the gesture years back. At least thats what I remember commentators saying.

it has someting to do with the ottoman empire (sp?) i think a turkish guy could explain better. i have based my statement on things i have read on other forums (apparently that colour it turquoise - i think u can spot the simmilarities in names yourself :) )
btw u can also point Italy (blue home), Japan (blue home), Germany (white home) and maybe other countries with not match between the flag and the kit. All have their explanation.
personaly i like it more when the home kit has the colours of the flag on it. that is the most important thing. but i think u can play a little with the colours on the away kit ;) (colours linked with different simbols of that country & stuff)

Italy (blue home)
blue is the colour of the italian royal family iirc

yep. All Italian sports teams wear blue as blue was the color of the royal house of Savoy.

The Italian teams have also always been called the Azzuri (blue) so this is nothing new. The questions about Turkey's kit w/teal is b/c it is new for Turkey and no one knows the reasoning

IIRC, Germany has white as a heritage to the van Bismarck family coat of arms.

About Turquoise
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turquoise_%28color%29
So the Turks are wearing the color named after them. A little weird but it makes a little sense for an away kit. Maybe they should of used more of the color though, the contrast wouldn't of been as bad on their flag badge

One thing I've always wondered, is why Turkey uses their flag as a badge instead of their badge:

Anyone know why?

Because they saw their kit on Pro Evo just had their flag as a badge and they liked it. ;) :p

yes i know that, something like this also applies to japan...just wanted to prove that there are more teams out there with kits not bearing the same colours as the flag...
