Why does Turkey have teal shorts and socks? i always thought they only wore white and red

i dont like the teal shorts and socks. i think they shouldve kept it all white with teal details.
and why doesnt US have red aways!?!?!?!?!?!
the navy is so boring!
and people, dont include the pics in your quotes.
well you see, with a lot of these international kits, teams like to use colors that are associated with that country. for example, red is one of the three colors on the us' flag.
anyways, the previous away shirt was one of my favorites out of the 06 kits. but i do like the simplicity in the new one.
i probably won't get it since i didn't buy the home shirt last time around (just the away and copa). i hope the home shirt still keeps the verticle stripe that the current one does.

Thanks, it's always nice to get the opinion of a mod. Oh wait...
FYI, if I'm making a comment on an image, I'll always include the image in a quote.
Yea but surely u cud just quote one of the images if several of the same item are displayed?!?!
Teal looks gd, tho I agree has nowt to do with turkey. US seem to have bought their shirt from the Nike catalogue for sunday league teams, uber plain IMO...

boo nike falling back into using the same template for so many countries.
took such a big step forward during the world cup, now theyre just throwing it away. while adidas has taken the best of what nike and puma did for the world cup. no cookie cutter kits with images within the kits

If I remember correctly, weren't the US and Mexico the only unique Nike jerseys in the WC? The rest were all pretty much the same design.

don't remember the details to the mexico kit.
but the usa kits were the same template with just their own unique designs on the front: vertical stripe on the home shirt and the horizontal stripes on the away.
otherwise, it's the same template as the others.

I think Mexico and the US were the only teams to have their own templates, see here (http://www.soccer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=1265&pcount=&Product_Id=246339) (make sure to change the colors, or else you'll see plain white) and here (http://www.soccer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=1265&pcount=&Product_Id=246356).

If I remember correctly, weren't the US and Mexico the only unique Nike jerseys in the WC? The rest were all pretty much the same design.
Croatia's home jersey was similar to the other Nike kits, except that instead of having the "cut-out" section on the arms, they had a small gold band at the bottom of the sleeve. But, because it was the checkerboard pattern, it looked a bit different.
Croatia's away kit was actually the same template as the US home, but instead of being two solid stripes down the front, they had a small strip of the checkerboard pattern: http://www.subsidesports.com/uk/store/product_details.jsp?pid=72057594037942700&cid=23&brc=&red=product_list.jsp?id=23,
Portugal's template, both home and away, was similar to the others, except that they also had a standout gold seam going from the side of the neck under the armpits as seen here: http://www.subsidesports.com/uk/store/product_details.jsp?pid=72057594037944196&cid=38&brc=&red=product_list.jsp?id=38,
and here: http://www.subsidesports.com/uk/store/product_details.jsp?pid=72057594037942703&cid=38&brc=&red=product_list.jsp?id=38,
Also, the away has a gold band on the arm, rather than the "cut-out" that most Nike jerseys had.
The other unique one was Holland, which had the truly retro home jersey, no accent colors, and an actual polo-style collar. Their away was a solid white (nothing on the arms) with a red, white and blue sash going from upper right to lower left (from the viewers' perspective).
So, Nike did actually have several teams who had unique kits at WC2006, which really couldn't be said for Adidas or Puma at the time. Kind of surprising that the German-based manufacturers didn't use the World Cup in their home country as a time to shine, and instead made all of their teams have the same template.

i don't see how the template for the usa home is different than say the holland away.
and i don't see how the usa away template is different than the portugal home.
the templates look the same to me, but nike just makes them all a little unique by adding stripes, lines, etc.

Really, it comes down to how you define the "template." In your opinion, some of the jerseys are exactly the same, and those added stripes aren't actually part of the template.
On the other hand, other people are saying that those stripes ARE in fact part of the template, as evidenced by the fact that you can buy those specific templates for your own soccer team.
IMO, those changes do change the template. It's not just a matter of changing the jersey color scheme, and the crest (which is basically what Puma and Adidas did), it's creating a whole different element to the jersey.
That being said, I see both sides of the argument. And, like most arguments on BS, if person A believes one thing and person B believes another, there's really no argument that either of them can make that will make the other one change their mind.

if you are referring to the actual cut of the fabric you might have a point, but design templates were all unique, yes some similarities but no cookie cutting at all.

Talking about templates, is FCB's new kits off of the Portugal ones. You'd have to look really hard but I think they are with that small like dotting the shoulders.

it might just be the fact that, with the exception of crotia's new kit and serbia's home kit, the nike kits in this thread are for the most part, blank, whereas in the world cup, they had something extra, design wise.
but turkey's and usa's away kit are cookie cutter.
holland away addied a small, but still minimalist and almost cookie cutter
portugal and serbia away are cookie cutter.
brazil's is a mixture of the two (collar of us/turkey with side accents of portugal/serbia).
serbia home and korea are the same template, but serbia has the large stripe- so not cookie cutter.
this is still better than puma, who are extremely cookie cutter. but is still back tracking from what nike did in the world cup, and behind what adidas has put out so far of new kits.

Did I miss something? I mean, can the Turkish explain to me the connection between the country and TEAL?
That is like Germany's old green away unis. "What?"
Turkey's flag is red and white, last time I checked.
I'm pretty sure some Turkey fans are fuming about it...
