To be honest, I never undertood the conventional wisdom giving the award to Angel over the last five weeks or so. Slightly fewer goals in many fewer games ... but way too many of Angel's goals were PKs. It certainly never seemed cut and dried for Angel to me (which isn't to say he didn't have a great season, because he did). Perhaps it was MLS trying to correct the injustice of Jaime getting robbed by the Metros a couple years ago.
Anyway, I am happy for Luciano, and I feel he deserved it.

I'm pretty sure the media select the winner, not the league office.

First time a team has back to back MVPs. So thats back to back MVPs and Supporter shields. Also since 2004 we have had an MVP finalist every year.

And to bring this thread come crashing down again... yeah, we got the Supporter's Shields and MVP's... but no cups.

Congrats Luci - but in the big picture I would have rather seen Angel win this one and Jamie win in 2004 when he got screwed out of it for Guevarra.
