Jansen will be missing both qualifiers. He got injured in training today. Shite! :(

I did not find any news in english yet.

I am glad we've got at least Lahm back. Our midfield is non-existent now that Schweinsteiger is injured as well and even with Klose, Gomez and Podolski we might have a scoring problem without the necessary supply from midfield. I think two clean sheets will be vital to finish the euros with two positive results. I hope Löw does not experiment in the goalkeeper and back 4 departement. They work well the way they are set, other than midfield and strikers, and to unsettle them with Hildebrand once more would be of no use with only a handful of game left before the Euros in 2008.

Wow we just can't catch a break. It's been injury after injury since the WC.

I sure hope we don't have this problem come next summer.

Löw said he will play three strikers, probably with Podolski in midfield.

-A. FRIEDRICH---------------------------------LAHM-
---------------------HITZLSPERGER------------------
-HILBERT---------------------------------BOROWSKI-
------------------------PODOLSKI-------------------
----------------KLOSE------------GOMEZ------------

This is probably what it'll be...looks somewhat promising, actually. As long as the wing play is strong, we should score without much of a problem.

That looks pretty great actually and the best thing: No Rolfes, Fritz or Trochowski!

I think Borowski is the weak link...

what is the problem with Fritz or Rolfes? Especially Rolfes has a good season so far.

A midfield of 3 defensivly weak mids and a center forward is not that great IMO.
I'm with Leinad: drop Podolsky and play Rolfes along Hitzlsperger.
Also keeps the formation the NT is used to play.

I was just posting what the line-up is likely to be. If I were in charge, Rolfes would play alongside Hitzlsperger. But if we do that, then Gomez must be dropped, not Podolski - Poldi is our link man, without him we have no one to connect the midfield and the attack. Klose could do it, but his class finishing in front of goal would go to waste.

In a year or two we could, according to many rumors already, have many german national players in top foreign clubs. Other national players are also in top clubs (germany)

Manuel Neuer: Tottenham was interested
Hildebrand (although he sucks): Valencia
Lahm: Barcelona interested
Mertesacker: AC Milan is interested, Aston Villa was interested
Metzelder: Real Madrid
Podolski: AC Milan interested
Ballack: Chelsea
Frings: AC Milan wanted him but he decided to stay with Werder Bremen
Klose: Bayern
Gomez: Juventus and Fiortentina are interested

AC Milan interested in Podolski. Article in German

article in english...pretty much what is says in the german article. I know that goal.com isnt very reliable but ive seen this rumor on some websites.

well its seems that it becomes more and more "normal" for german players to go abroad if they want to play at the absolut top level.
Especially the next generation of german footballers will be effected by this.

Btw nearly all good german youth national players get offers from foreign clubs, its really nothing unsual anymore.

Fritz is by far the better RB in comparison to Friedrich!

For sure. Though neither, in my view, should be starting for Germany. I would play Lahm ahead of both of them, and Castro as well.

I liked Podolski in offensive midfield (links

http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/nationalelf/startseite/artikel/372165/

as Löw said: we can say that Podolski can be competition for Schweinsteiger:

"Auf Nachfrage, ob mit Podolski eine mögliche Konkurrenz auf seinen Bayern-Kollegen und Freund Bastian Schweinsteiger erwachse, antwortete Löw lakonisch: "Das kann man so sagen." Podolski sei kein zentraler Stürmer wie ein Luca Toni, sondern brauche Bewegung, komme gerne auch "aus der Tiefe". Schon in der zweiten Halbzeit gegen Rumänien habe er diese Variante mit Podolski ausprobiert"

what do you think about this?

The German players didn't leave the dressing room until the final whistle was blown in the England-Croatia match. Podolski: "I danced naked in the dressing room."

Some good old Schadenfreude about England's agony. Good man. A real German national player. So much for people who keep pointing out he was Polish. That is the prove he is not. :D;)
