The amnesty works like this. You will be allowed to be considered a full member of this supporter group (nyc team) if you revoke your association with RBNY within the next year.
-You will be allowed to wear team and supporter colors
-You will be treated like one of us with never a tie to RBNY
-You will be allowed to "serve respect" to your former club during the derby by abstaining from the harsher chants if you so wish to
Join now because later on its just going to be worse!

That it could be the initiation for the ones that dont fall under the amnesty plan.

NYC could fill a 20k stadium with all of the ManUtd fans who've never been to Manchester. Do they get amnesty too, if they decide to support a local side instead of one 3,000 miles away? :D
It is actually funny. NYRB gets, call it 12k people a game (at best, but still). For a Beckham game, 65k, for a Barca game, 70k.
Without taking 1 NYRB fan, you could find 30k fans pretty easily just from the EPL Saturday morning sports bars, soccer fields in Corona Park and other places around NYC where people who passionately love soccer never go to games. Make sure you give those guys amnesty too. ;)

Nah! Those guy already support this new soon to be club. I'm going after the RBNY fans that live in NYC. It's an amnesty program.
As to your Man U comment, everyone is allowed to support teams from other countries as long as they dont play against your team. For example in england people might like Arsenal, in spain it could be Barca, in Italy Lazio and so on. In that instance your point about the Man U fans filling stadiums in NYC is moot.

No, you misunderstand.
If you go to bars like Nevada's, you can swing a dead cat around and hit 2 white kids from the village wearing an EPL jersey for a team they've never seen play live. I was talking about giving those guys an Integrity Amnesty, allowing them to support a local side for the right reasons, instead of a foriegn team because it is glamourous to do so. Hit a NYC EPL soccer bar on a Saturday morning, and you'll see born and raised Americans who don't follow MLS wearing euro soccer jerseys...and they're never for Ipswich, Motherwell or Torquay.
If NYC gets a team, hopefully those cats will follow it, even if it does, god forbid, finish outside of the top 4 now and again.

I'm starting to see that YOU want to have those guys at games. I in particular dont find those "fans" if we can use that word, particulary attractive. Those "Nevada Yanks" that you mention are not the fans that are looking for a team in NYC. They arent the ones that are going to show up in Corona. I can see though that you probably see yourself reflected in that group and thats probably why you get angry at their dismissal of MLS. But in the end those fans are the last ones to show up. They are the ones that are still waiting for MLS to mature. Who wants them? I don't.
P.S. Those people WILL NOT be granted Amnesty!

Hey wait a minute - I am a United supporter and I will root for NYC. Although I have made the trip out there, you can not fault someone for rooting for a european side or a south american side. They might continue to do so even while rooting for NYC. I have no problems with that. See, the Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrids and Boca Juniors of the world were around way before the MLS, so if you grew a passion for one of those clubs then I think they should not be burned for that.

There is a difference, you want to root for a NYC team. Eurosnobs DONT want to root for anything or anyone in MLS. Those will not be giving clemency when our team is on top of the world and kicking RBNY ass!

Fair - to my defence - I love the game - I have followed United since before the MLS was here - I always will root for them, but- I always wanted to embrace the Red Bulls but just couldnt - obviosly NYC FC is my dream and if the day come i would wear their colors in a friendly against United!! This is my dream!!!

I hope they put a team in NYC quick, because this sort of ultimatum to supporters of a team that exists from "supporters" of a team that may never exist is pure cockfarming.

A few things for RBNJ supporters that read our forum.
1. Sounds like you gives are already afraid of the sleeping giant. Why else would you guys be in here reading so attentively what happens in NYC.
2. Do you guys read DC United's forum as much as ours?
3. You guys are as anxious or more about this NYC proper team.
4. Are you guys already looking for who is going to defect?
I'll add to the list as I come across items.

Nah I'll just root for the teams in Flushing Meadows that play on the weekends. They play better than anything that RBNJ has produced in the last few years (with the exception of JPA and Jozy).
