Campaign to get Wilpon to move forward with NYC2

I am in the process of getting some addresses to write to them - i was thinking of getting a petition. We have a supporters group formed - we are in the process of picking an name. If you are interested in joining email nycfcfan@gmail.com and we will keep you updated. Right now we need an official identity - which will be picked by this weekend. Then myself and southpaw are spearheading the campaign. We can use people to help us so email and let us know how you can help.

Just for the record and I hope that you guys dont use this against me, but I prefer the name of the team to be Cosmos. That not being the case I want Inter NY. The reasons for and against are numerous and I'm sure that we will have ample time to discuss all that. But for the time being I'm completely in.

Great idea, Torero, but the right name is New Tork City Football Club and I hope that the jersey will be GREEN ( in MLS, but also in SERIE A and in PREMIER LEAGUE aren't there teams by green jersey ).
Is the 2011 the our objective for this team in MLS or is there a small possibility also for 2010 ?

Seattle will be green, i'm sure.
We should go with Blue.
I know San Jose is, and KC...
but Blue is a great color and is in the flag of NYC.
I do like the orange as well, but i'm kind of sick of all
this two-tone team colors. We should just stick to a solid
color home jersey, Blue....maybe white...(RBNY is white though)
Maybe White with a single orange stripe, or just blue, with minor orange trim.
I don't really want to be exactly the Mets' colors.

New York City


Simple. Sophisticated.

As in DC United V. New York City. Throw a FC on there if you must. Please no Inter or anything contrived (and you know that is). I think we can all agree that New York City speaks for itself. It doesn’t need anything else. It doesn’t want anything else. If a nickname develops then let it come organically.

While I am partial to greens I would accept a rich blue with an orange sash across the front. Team sponsor embroidered in black across the chest.

The state of the league address pretty much spelled out MLS working with the Mets to get this done. I believe I heard a reference to a perfect storm brewing in NYC regarding this.
