I will be in London on November 24 and I just bought at ticket to see QPR play Sheffield Wednesday. This will be my first visit to Loftus Road. Any game-day advice? Do you have suggestions for where to get a pre-game beer? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

I'll be at that match, too.
Here's a February '07 thread (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=476251) on this topic that has plenty of good info and that provides links to numerous other such threads in the past. I think those cover most of the info, although if you have any specific questions, I'll be glad to answer them.
My favorite pre-match pub is The White Horse (http://www.sff.net/people/Chris.Amies/publist/reviews/whitehorse_uxbridgeroad_w12.htm) on Uxbridge Road. To be honest, it's by no means a spectacular pub (although I like the atmosphere there), it just happens to be a place where I meet some friends when I go over. They will have someone on the door and sometimes they will only let season ticket holders in, while other times you need to have a ticket in the home sections. However, if you're wearing QPR gear (on come in early), they don't usually ask.
A nice pub near the ground is The Green (http://www.sff.net/people/Chris.Amies/publist/images/Green_UxbridgeRoad.jpg) on Uxbridge Road at the corner by Shepherds Bush Green. The LSA meets there (http://www.qprlsa.co.uk/) before matches at the downstairs bar, but the upstairs is open to anyone. They have a good selection of real ales as well as lagers, Guinness, etc.
The pub nearest the ground is The Springbok (http://www.sff.net/people/Chris.Amies/publist/images/Springbok_SouthAfricaRoad.jpg), but it generally has many away fans, although not 100% -- it's a mix.
Good pubs on Goldhawk Road, which is a bit of a longer walk to the ground than those on Uxbridge Road, include The Goldhawk (http://www.sff.net/people/Chris.Amies/publist/reviews/goldhawk_goldhawkroad_w12.htm) and The BushRanger (http://www.sff.net/people/Chris.Amies/publist/reviews/bushranger_goldhawkroad_w12.htm).
Members of The Independent R's (http://www.indyrs.co.uk/) meet at The Coningham Arms (http://www.sff.net/people/Chris.Amies/publist/reviews/coninghamarms_uxbridgeroad_w12.htm) on Uxbridge Road.
The Hammersmith & Fulham Pub List (http://www.sff.net/people/Chris.Amies/publist/w12.html) is a good resource. That link is to the Shepherds Bush (W12) page and just about any pub on that page will have QPR supporters in it on matchday.

Row 2 in the upper tier of the South Africa Road Stand, somewhere near midfield. The woman at the ticket office said it's a good seat. I can't wait.

That'll be pretty close to the action, but still under cover. That's just a couple of rows above the suites.
Here are a few photos of that side of the stadium:

I echo MetroAnt's comments, to Atouk. ;)
One question I have: I've only ever been in the Loft (friend of a friend connection). Is ALL of Loftus road meant for people who are no more than 4' 11" ?
I swear, my knees were bruised up for a week after, due to the seat-backs in front of me!
