I just noticed that the AC Milan of the later 1980's had a large number of players who is holding good coaches/or in important coaching positions.

Ancelotti
Rijkaard
Donadoni
Van Basten

We are talking about two great national teams, and two of the more recent European Cup winners. Gullit is also a coach. I cannot think of another team with so many players who turned into great coahes.

Please scrap V. Basten as great coach.. Fantastic player, but the worst coach Dutch team ever had...

Hugol, Schuster, Camacho, Cabezon Ruggeri, Valdano, Hagi (90's), Garcia Remon, Laudrup... a few that come to mind of the 80's and 90's Real Madrid (although from Camacho and MGR to ML, not all of them played together -- Hagi/Laudrup being more recent ones).

All have held important gigs.

I know some people will say that. I also said: "in important coaching positions." :)
