Let's bitch slap the German >>"champions"<< on their own pitch. Last seasons game in Stuttgart was a disaster and we got away with a 2-0 loss that could have been worse. One frustrating match and now it's revenge time.

Hopefully a win, but I'm not even that confident anymore. So many weak draws.. :(

after Hitzfeld's arrogant sparing and subbing strategy anything less than a win in this game will be unacceptable

I'm sticking with my score from the predictions contest.

VfB will win this match 2:1. Bayern really need a quality central midfielder to back up v.Bommel and ze. We can't keep relying on Ottl to take over for one of those two.

of course do we need another DM/CM, because Ottl is unbearable! Today's game again showed why! As in the first half the game speed was really fast, it became obvious that Ottl is too slow for this kind of game. This is due to his technical limitations, this results in his sloppy mistakes to stop balls or to play good passes. Secondly he still seems to think football is played without body, as he does not engange any duell or any tackling at all.

If Stuttgart is lost then there should be serious considerations about a different coach next year, because the mistakes Hitzfeld is making get more and more

You are absolutely right about Ottl. Not a player of Bayern quality. I think we need to start experimenting with Schweini and Altintop as back ups when v. Bommel or Ze get a rest. Now that Schlaudraf and Sosa are healthy we can afford to do this.

Unfortunately the management thinks differently, as they did not sell him as Frankfurt wanted him and as they are trying to extend the contract with him. I really have no clue why they are doing this? Weren't they watching the same game as we?

would be better, but through the constant ignoring of Sosa and Schlaudraff this might not work at all as they have no playing practice. It was so laughable as Hitzfeld subbed Kroos in and Sosa + Schlaudraff could only watch the scene

Does anyone think another problem with our game currently is that we're operating with no central attacker "in the hole". There's a gap between the midfield and the forward line that needs to be plugged. Klose could easily do this but we've been playing him as another target man.

This is the last game in an ungodly 3-week stretch, so 'yes', a result would be most appreciated.

I firmly hope we are bringing our BEST XI to the start of this match.

I smell a "#10" conversation about to happen...

I don't want to retread tired topics, but this subject recurs because there is some truth to it. Bayern either needs to play Klose as a support striker or push Ribery into the center, because right now there is a critical gap behind the strikers that needs to be plugged in order for the goals to flow.

There is no need for a #10, we simply have to play our system like it is supposed to be played. Unfortunately this hasn't been the case in most of the season. The central is certainly good enough this season but only as long as Ze and MvB are playing, as soon as Ottl is playing Bayern's defense is as open as a gate. That's why a true class DM/CM is needed there. Additionally the ROM - as counterpart to Ribery - position is lacking, mostly because the players used there did not play to their potential most of the time (Schwein., Altintop). Our game also relies on offensive fullbacks but due to injuries our first fullbacks haven't been playing much and the reserve FB were mostly disappointing (Jansen) or are simply not good offensively (Lell)

possible lineup:

---------- Kahn ------------

-Lahm--Lucio---Demi----Jansen

----van Bommel ----- Ze ------

---Ribery------------Schweini---

-----Toni-----Podolski---------

Klose should be subbed in regarding the result, like he was in cup game vs. Gladbach. He then started very aggressive and made profit from an exhausted defence.

I have a feeling that this game could be a turning point for the season. The Bayern team showed great promise against Bolton and Frankfurt, just the luck was missing and maybe a clinical edge.

Podolski has found his scoring boots and his first goal against Bolton was an absolute peach. He must start! Possibly with Toni along side him to take down those long balls and lay them off.

With the return of our first team regulars and Ribery on fire a good and convincing win in Stuttgart could raise the spirits and ensure a good string of wins up to the christmas break.

Podolski is usually the kind of striker which plays more as a mix of OM and striker. He would be a striker to fill this roll (especially due to his good distance shots).
Its confirmed that Podolski will start against Stuttgart, im curious to see how its gonna work and if he has finally arrived at Bayern.

The pessimist in me in coming out...this one has draw or loss written all over it :(

I think we all need to give Poldi some props. The man complained about lack of playing time, and Uli said earn it... Well Poldi has played really well in his last several apearances, but all it lacked was goals. Now he's got a couple and I think we may see some real competition for the starting role.
