Just my opinions.
Please explain though why the Women's Sports Foundation should really care about a beer ad (other than the fact that they fact they might feel happy that a woman athlete got herself in an ad).
When you look at those complaining, you see the radical humorless feminists (like NOW ) on the left and the Christian groups (like the AFA) on the right.
NOW complaints are here http://www.nowfoundation.org/issues/communications/watchout3/superbowl.html
The AFA's complaints are here http://www.afa.net/activism/aa012203.asp
So, please show me an ad that the WSF complained about? Their website DOES contain a few stories about the dangers of binge drinking for kids, but that's about it.

Anthony, you are correct. Other feminist organizations are irate over the beer ads while the Women's Sports Foundation has been silent. Do you ever wonder why the WSF is silent on this issue?

A Wall Street Journal article last month described the flak over racy ads run by nearly all the big breweries in the U.S. The catfight one is not the most ridiculous by any means.

Except this ad has been out for about a year.
Just my opinion, but I doubt the Women's Sports Foundation gives a flying fig about this ad. I think you are reading way too much into the gender ramifications of ads that really are just attempts at humor.

I don't wonder, but I'm real curious as to what your answer is.

GOTCHA !!..., you've been watching spanish channel !!!!!! you must have been watching Gold Cup recently......

I think I stick with Go DC on this -- maybe they like beer.
Or maybe it is because the WSF is an organization dedicated to getting women to play sports. While we can argue over Title IX (I think as currently constituted it is flawed, though its goal is a laudible one), that is what they do. Reviewing ads is not their thing.
Maybe they are not a humorless, radical feminist "all things women" bunch of busy bodies like NOW.
I am a conservative. I found the Miller ad funny. The AFA found the MIller ad very offensive. I did not see the Heritage Foundation put out a press release on the Miller ad.

Hmm, perhaps this explains my befuddlement at the Dr. Scholls shoe insert ads. I had decided they were some sort of meta-advertising wink-wink prank, but perhaps there is a demographic behind this that desires nothing more than comfy feet, melon and committing serious crimes? Actually, that's just a crap commercial with a crap idea.

No way. Have you seen Heather Mitts? If not, put her name in your Google search engine and enjoy.
And the best distributing midfielder, male or female, Ali Wagner, ain't so bad either. And a former member, Trish Venturini was much hotter than Foudy.
Flannigan, lighten up. It was funny, particularly the part with the guy's hand waving up from the sidewalk when the waitress asked who had the lite beer.
I find all of their ads funny. I just don't by the beer. If I'm going to waste all those calories, it's gonna be something dark and heavy (no, not Queen Lateef...although that's an idea, yes?)
cheers

Perhaps the same conspiracy that fixed USA-Germany?
Or who made sure that the USA-Turkey game in the Confederations Cup "wasn't on the up-and-up?"
You stick to practicing law, and I'll tell you about advertising, okay? Julie Foudy is fairly well known among the people who are likely to see this ad when it's run on a soccer match broadcast (and that's despite the fact she wasn't chosen to do commentary on the 2002 World Cup for some reason, because we know she was available). Probably less so when it's run during other sporting events. Probably less so than that if it ran during Battlebots.
It's a commercial. It's not reality. It's not the product of some female conspiracy, it's the product of a frigging advertising agency that makes about 400 commercials a year and if you don't get it, too bad because they're still going to sell a lot of beer.
Let me let you in on a little secret -- the "Whassuh?" guys? Great ad campaign, right? Everyone recognized it, loved it. Catchphrases of the 21st century and all that? The company's market share didn't increase from those ads.
Sometimes it doesn't work.

Keep defending Hugh Dallas and the ref in the Turkey game. It looks good on you, Kenn.

Keep thinking that every result that doesn't go your way is the result of chicanery.
That looks worse on you.
As do your attempts at sarcasm. One more thing you're no good at.
Let us know when you get within a toll call of rational thought, okay?
