I hope the debate will be good.
As far as I am concerned there are 3-4 groups of teams, and every one else can be grouped togather.
Group #1: EPL, La Liga (Spain), Serie A and the Bundisliga (Germany).
Group #2: Holland, Portugal, France, Argentina, Brasil, Mexico.
Group #3: Belgium, USA, Denmark, Greece, Russia, Japan, Korea, Ukraine, Turkey, English championship.
I think the best teams in the first two groups make up the best in the world. The relegation Fighters in most of those leagues would make up the 2nd-3rd tier. or 4th in some cases.
If I had to put forth a ranking it would look like this:
#1 EPL/ La Liga
#3 Serie A (a VERY close second)
#4 German Bundesliga
#5 France
#6 Holland
#7 Portugal
#8 Argentina
#9 Mexico
#10 Brasil
#11 USA
#12 Turkey
#13 Japan
#14 Russia
#15 Greece
Obviously I don't get to see many games from most of those listed but from the Media:eek: I get this seems accurate to me.
What do you all think?

Scotland is definitely higher in this list
France is higher than Brasil and Argentina where players have heaps of time on the ball as players are very rarely closed down

Considering Celtic alone you would have to rank Scotland higher and not to be a home town fan but I'd say the MLS in the United States ranks higher than the leagues in Paraguay, Uraguay and arguably Belgium.

That doesn't happen in the Brazilian neither Argentinan league. I think definitely those South American leagues are higher by technique and stronger teams than French.
I think too Scottish league has a good position there, couldn't be up over one of them in my opinion.

I'd put France in the first group, you sometimes get French teams doing well in Europe while near the relegation zone in the league whereas in Holland and definitely Portugal the teams from 5th down struggle in Europe.

This season I've could seen many games from the MLS by ESPN, and I think they're grown up, but don't have the level of Paraguayan or Uruguayan league yet, its football is low yet.

You have got to be kidding me with the first two lists.
A reasonable response is....
1. England
2. Spain
3. Italy
4. France
5. Germany
6. Portugal
7. Brazil
8. Scotland
9. Argentina
10. USA
11. Holland
12. Turkey
13. Mexico
(And the rest Russia, Japan, Greece, Norway ect don't matter becasue nobody good plays for those clubs anyway) 99.9% of the best players play within those thirteen leagues).
England undoubtedly has the most talent; if there was a leauge championship and all the best players in the EPL played all the best players in the other leagues the EPL players would steam roll.

Are you serious? You start off with a ridiculous comment and then completely leave out the Dutch League in favor of Norway and Russia, who by the way incase you weren't sure are also not in Europe.

Norway and Russia aren't in Europe?
I was going along the lines that Scandavaian countries don't include themselves with the Europeans typically.

This is a decent list, except the romanian league is definately better than group six, and there is no way the irish league is as good as ligue 2 or the norwegian league; look at what rosenborg are doing in champions league, compared to irish sides that struggle with faroese and icelandic opposition. also, you forgot the swiss league, which probably belongs in group 5.
what about some of the arabian leagues like saudi arabia, uae and qatar. they seem to have some cash, how would people rate them?
