i know, we've got hapoel tel-aviv first, but i'm kicking this one off as i'm flying out tomorrow for what will likely be my only match at the lane this year. park lane upper for me as we give wigan athletic the thrashing that they deserve. they may well be out of sorts, as sacking hutch this week could further destabilize a struggling side. that said, there's always the possibility that they'll be more focused. regardless, they'll be no match for the mighty tottenham hotspur, as juande ramos takes the reigns for his first league match at the lane.
saw martin jol's first league match at the lane, as well - a 2-3 loss to charlton athletic. but that was different, as MJ inherited a really struggling side that looked truly shambolic at the back. (pause) hmmmmm. well, here's to hoping for better, anyway.
i'm saying 4-1 with berbs, malbranque, and keano twice.
by the way, does anyone over there know if our cup match is going to be televised thursday night? could be most pertinent to my evening.

I'd be happy with 4-1. And I think that's a likely score, although I think it's more likely they get two goals to make us sweat a bit (they score when we're up 3-1 and then we put the game away a few minutes later). It's interesting...this is the first game I feel confident about in some time.
Have a safe and fun trip...ya jerk.

Bon voyage pook! Not the most glamorous opponents, but the Lane is the Lane, and I'm dead jealous. We really should put them to the sword, but I'll take any kind of win. I also want a clean sheet and defensive solidity.
Looks like Channel 5 has the UEFA game over there, starts about 4pm UK time. :)

Have a wonderful and safe trip ... and raise a pint somewhere to those of us who cannot be there.
I'm predicting a 2-2 draw. The magician that is Wand A. Ramos tries to cast a spell over this game, but determines that it is the players who must win lose or draw it ... confirming suspicions raised by our lovable former coach, that this team just isn't performing. Conveniently, it also later proves to be a stepping stone to bringing in re-infocements for the magician.
Of course, the supersecret 12th man that is pookspur just might pull us through this one!

I think it would be an understatement to say we have to win this game.

Derby and Bolton have home games where they could pick up points. Sad to say it, but getting 3 points Sunday is not about turning a corner, it's about keeping us out of the drop zone.
TBH I'd prefer Hutchings to still be there as manager... bit of an unknown quantity without a manager. Apparently their defending was woeful against Chelsea last week - couple that with Robbie Keane, and we are bound to get goals.
Another clean sheet would be nice but I expect another wonder goal, from Koumas this time. 3-1 Tottenham.

I'd like to see this but they said Keane was miles offsides but Jenas latched on to it because the defenders thought Keane went for it then stopped and then Jenas took it instead and Buried that SHEET for his 2nd and 2-0 Spurs!!!

If we give this lead up, Juande might sack the whole team and just field the academy for the rest of the season.
