Well, only a couple of people showed up (literally) but a good bit was discussed.
First and foremost - our identity - we cant be the NYC FC supporters group forever.
There were two names on the Board that went above the rest.
1) The Dead Rabbits
2) Twin Towers supporters group
We have a vote going for all on the email list already. Again, if you are interested in joining us email NYCFCFAN@gmail.com to join the mailing list. Also, we have www.myspace.com/nycfc (http://www.myspace.com/nycfc) set up for myspace users to be heard and seen.
Secondly we discussed plans of action for our group.
1) I am in the process of making up fliers for our Supporters Club. These fliers will be bi-lingual, so if anyone is a Spanish speaker we will need their input. These fliers are hope to be handed out.
How do we hand them out. Well myself and Southpaw (BOARD) have decided that next season we will attend Rough Riders Matches, as well as other development matches to spread the word. We will also make appearances at public parks where many matches are played. We need to recruit names.
2) Next season we will attempt to make appearances at matches in Jersey and maybe another trip (like DC) with our name flying high in a banner. We must start getting recognized by the fans of the league.
I hope to have another meet, but it is a tough time of year with all the Holidays coming up. I would plan the next meet for after the holidays so we can all get together and discuss further plans of getting our names out there. Right now myself and Southpaw are making good soccer contacts to both grow the group and spread the word. If you can do the same in the meantime, that would be amazing.
I know many of you were not on the email and i URGE you to join myself and Southpaw in our mission. Please follow the instructions above to join.
