CELTIC 2 DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC 1

Sweden striker Henrik Larsson fired a brace as the champions held on to record an opening-day victory over battling Dunfermline at Parkhead.

The Bhoys dominated the first half and it was no surprise when Larsson headed the opener four minutes before the break from Bobby Petta's corner.

Larsson notched his second on 66, before Gary Dempsey's strike 16 minutes from time set up a tense finish.

Bah, I really would have liked to see Larsson's goal. Good thing we won, 2:1 is a bit close for my liking. At least the Gers only drew a draw!

Celtic domination has begun!

Goals by Mjallby, Lambert, Sutton and Sylla. Douglas started between the sticks. Mjallby put Celtic on the board in the 4th min. Maloney got a 10 minute run in as well.

The All-Celtic Thread was getting a bit packed. So, let's keep this thread for results and matchday comments. Put general grumblings, rumours, etc. in the All-Celtic Thread. I'll split that one off and archive it once it hits 300 posts or so.

Celtic cruise past dazed Dons

The Swiss are the masters of timing, but even they would have acknowledged yesterday that Celtic are the best at clocking up wins. The manner in which the points were wrapped up at Pittodrie must have impressed the scout from FC Basle, visitors to Parkhead on Wednesday for a Champions' League qualifying tie, who saw the 4-0 rout...
