This may only apply to one really annoying pr!ck, but does it really help grow the fan base when new fans arrive and are abused by those who act all superior and entitled because they have been fans longer and have come to more games.

I gritted my teeth and fought back the urge to tell this guy to F*ck 0ff as he shouted at fans sitting in "his" seats that they weren't singing loud enough and should get out of "his" seats. He even tried to start a chant about "If this isn't your first game, clap your hands."

People like this will ensure that we get to b!tch about attendance for years to come.

Abuse the other team, abuse the referee, abuse the other teams fans. That should keep you pretty busy.

That could be one of many people yesterday I would imagine. However, if people want to 'own' their seat, they have to get seats outside the Fort.

I agree, it's obnoxious. Chant and sing and hope the new comers join in. If they don't, ignore them. They'll move on anyway.

Sadly it does not. I've been to all but maybe 6 Revs home games since the league started. I see it all the time. The worst was when I watched a member of a supporters group taunt a 13 year old girl for wearing a Beckham shirt at the LA match. It was a disgrace.
Support your team- have a good time, but leave the folks who paid to see the match alone. I love the Revs, but I'm not the type of person to sing and chant - I quietly watch the match, focused on the play - -that's okay isn't it?

I know the "One pr!ck" your talking about, and I don't think it really bothered many people, and if it did they are way to sensitive, and it goes both ways us being associated as drinking to much could be an insult. And it was really frustrating when there was like 10 people in our area doing chants and trying to get everyone else to join along when we were isolated from the rest of the fort. And when the sign at the top of the section says standing and cheering, and you are not doing one and only doing one because your forced there is an issue. Believe me I can understand just wanting to sit and watch the game, my dad does at games and the other people that sometimes come to games do as well, but there are 20 sections for that and ONE for standing and chanting the MAJORITY of the game (as i don't think it's physically possible to chant and sing the whole 90+ without a breather). If you want to sit, move to one of the other GA sections.

That wasn't me (I know who it was, but I'll refrain from saying names), but I do share some of those sentiments, although I'd never harrass fans of my team. I've got no problem with "new" fans sitting in the bottom third of The Fort, what does annoy me though is when they don't at least attempt to join in on the singing. It makes us look bad as a Supporters Group when it looks like only 30% of the people are doing anything (and when those people are all spread out).

I'm probably going to get bitched at from all angles because of this but frankly, I don't care.

I can't believe we're bashing Dan so openly here.

As I belive Monty and the Magpie have stated many times, they aren't "our" seats, because the entire section is General Admission. They become "our" seats when we get inside the stadium before the newbies do. I know that last night was much more difficult because of the weather, but if we want to have the first 10+ rows in the Fort, we actually have to get inside the stadium first.

I was watching on FSC when the pregame signed on at 7pm and there were only a few regular Riders in the first two rows. If we want those seats, we need to be there more than 30 minutes before kickoff.

Oh Chowda...what would we do without you.

Anyways, I was very annoyed last night regarding the seating. If you're not going to sing and chant, you shouldn't be in the Fort, go to the other GA section. There is a sign that says "singing is encouraged" or something like that isn't there? When trying to get the "We Love You" chant going, it was me, Brian and Uncle Mike trying to get organized, each seperated by about ten rows. Not to mention I was sick of moving so people could go to the bathroom or get a beer or w/e.

The first....let's say ten rows should be reserved for Midnight Riders (which would exclude me this season, so don't come back with something regarding how I want my seats blah blah blah) as to avoid problems like this, but the only thing we can do is complain right now, and I'm enjoying doing just that:D

I'll admit though, I enjoyed actually being able to see the game sitting up higher.

Instead of just being out of sync with the lower fort, you would have always been doing a different chant all night long.

You need to give it up to me for at least trying to get things synchronized.;)

As for this discussion, maybe if we all abstained from alcohol before, during, and after the game, people would treat each other more like human beings. Alcohol has caused people to do some stupid things over the years.

well i was that "one prick" and congratulations - you just told me to f*ck off. and for the record i dont b!tch about attendance, so im telling you to f*ck off and come to more games, then you can sit where you like.

trust me, i want more fans, but i dont want people to go just because we made the playoffs. thats cheap. just like transparent human said, there are 20 other sections to sit in (including another GA section on the other side of the field) if you want to be a spectator. if you want to be a supporter, get a membership, or come to every game, or maybe just stand and sing.

when i was new, i didnt sit there and watch. people in the section told me to sing and i sang. i earned my level of respect (or maybe in your case, lack of respect) but i didnt start going becuase we made playoffs, and thats what ticks me off.

"when in rome.... do as the romans do" - means more to some than you know. if your going to be in the Fort, you better stand and sing or else you are going to pi$$ a lot of people off.

Agree agree agree. I'd rep you if I had the ability. I was one of the people behind you (beard, yellow rain coat) and it was just discouraging having nobody doing anything and and not being able to hear the guys and girls up front. I'm a newbie (first season in the fort) so I know I haven't earned respect yet I guess, but the section is very clearly marked as standing and cheering. And you can go sit and watch the game if thats your cup of tea across the aisle.

Weren't you the one saying "sing faster"?;) I wouldn't say that's trying to synchronize.

So it looks like if we lose against el Fuego, we're all going to vent off and maybe even kill some off.

i love you. seriously, if you're going to sit in the fort, cheer, if not, then you can go sit somewhere else, singing was horrible last night, we need everyone on the same page.

This isn't about assigned seating, it's about the supporter's section being used for casual fans.

I'm not trying to come off as a dick, but all you're doing is beating around the bush, avoiding the real reason people are pissed off.

That 2/3 of the Fort weren't singing last night.

It would be one thing if the seating was taken by people that would participate in the songs, but it was the worst I've ever heard us last night, mostly because everyone was so spread out.

AND people were doing their own things. between riders in the upper half of the fort, the latino guys making "fascist looking" movements and the chicks behind me asking too many questions, it was impossible to hear what the lower half of the fort was doing. when i could hear, i tried to sync everyone, and we got some good songs going.
