OLD TRAFFORD WALK OF FAME
I have been thinking, I was outside the East Stand of Old Trafford at the last champions league match, and the Roma fans were wondering around, and I thought to myself, a lot of teams will come here, knowing the history, but unless they visit the museum they will not get to experience it, as well some Man Utd fans.
I was thinking about a Hollywood walk of fame where anyone who has legendary staus at the club gets a star laid outside the east stand underneath the statue of Sir Matt Busby.
You could have their name, their position at the club – manager, player, their record if that is what is there – record goal scorer, record appearances, etc etc.
The stars that spring to mind are:
Sir Matt Busby
Duncan Edwards
Nobby Stiles
Sir Bobby Charlton
Dennis Law
George Best
Bryan Robson
Mark Hughes
Steve Bruce
Peter Schmichael
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Eric Cantona
David Beckham
Sir Alex Ferguson
Gary Neville
Ryan Giggs
Paul Scholes
Rudd Van Nistelroy
And the others I haven’t mentioned.
And in a few years time – Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic and Owen Hargeaves, who I think is outstanding. I think it would not only appeal to Manchester United supporters but also to football fans in general and the city of Manchester. I think it
would be a brilliant way to honour those true players who wear the red shirt with pride.
THE WEMBLEY WALK OF FAME
where the legendary players get their name on a star and put onto the walk. I think it could work just as well at Wembley stadium.
As you come off Wembley way and find the stadium in front of your eyes, there could be a walk of legends. On each star it would have their pisiont, their appearces, their goals, their best moment, and the likes of
Sir Alf Ramsey
Bobby Moore
Sir Bobby Charlton
Sir Stanley Matthew’s
Duncan Edwards
Stuart periece
Gary Linekar
Alan Shearer
David Beckham
Michael Owen
Dennis Law
Jimmy Greaves
Geoff Hurst
Nobby Stiles
Alan Ball
Gordon Banks
Peter Shilton
David Seamen
Tony Adams
Paul Scholes
And the many more who have put on the white shirt of England and played with pride and passion and done something special for their country.
It would bring in tourists, and add an extra bit of charm and history to Wembley stadium.
