Me neither

For those Brazilians who started a massive complain and criticism for being called "Negritos" by Maradona, it seems they ommited the rest of what he said to his Argentina. Arenīt they?.

Diego Maradona in Cuba, "Diario Ole" July 7 2003:
"Iīm a eternal forgotten, but not for shutting my mouth, I have the guts to say what the others hide.
They said they love me but then , they forget about me. Doors were open wide to me there, to coach NT and youth, but when I was dying in Punta Del Este (Heart attack in January 2000) They left me alone and exile me from there.
Iīm not perfect, but I donīt want to be used anymore, and illusionate my daughters, by those false and liars just for have a good image in front of me and Argentinian fans. Thatīs why I can be a part of Argentinian football anymore and I canīt return to Argentina. So I took a way apart"

Just to make things clear in this place.

That's a desperate PLEA, so that he will be placed on AFA's coaching staff. Nobody bought it, he has too much baggage, nobody wants him around.

The August 2003 FourFourTwo has an article that tracks all the things he's said and done over the last 18 months and it's truly mind-boggling. And not a little sad too.

Not for being fat, again, heīs saying AFA promise him to give him a chance but he say everything is a lie just to make illusion in people and in his family, to AFA have a good image. He complains about being used by AFA for they own interest, for being the God of football but the truth is that everybody turned their back on him (And see itīs clear and present in you, here) when he really was in need.
He is denouncing AFA that he had offerts to be coach but when he suffered the heart attack for his drugs problems they let him alone to death.
Itīs OK heīs exile from football, due to drugs problems, for being a crazy guy, and with no chance to recover, but to keep him and his family exile from Argentina and other countries and all that mess he have everywhere (Helped with media) is an overrating punishment.

(The article was translated from maradona10.com)

And also, Maradona called to an Argentinian TV show to make the same accusation , he and his family would like to return Argentina they he canīt, a tribunal is waiting for him and something like that we finally still donīt understand.
So, whereīs the God10 if people kill him.
Iīm not agree, thatīs all

Yeah, there were some funny quotes from Maradona in that one.

He's essentially become Argentina's Mike Tyson and/or Michael Jackson. He's nothing but a full-on freak show & you only watch him to see if he does or says something foolish.

Shooting off over 100 fireworks in the middle of the night, in a residential neighborhood?! Yeesh!

I saw a documentary about him in Cuba with his family, and all I can say is that one of his daughters was gorgeous. Lovely latino looks with long brown hair. The other one looked a bit like a butch lezza.

This may sound tasteless (OK it is tasteless), but I reckon we should go down to the bookies and put some money on Diego not being around to see the next world cup. At least someone can gain from the tragidy.

I'm not defending Maradona on everything, but laughing at fireworks as some indictment of insanity. Have you ever lived in South America? Random fireworks shows aren't all that uncommon in my neck of the woods down here. I'm not saying I like them as the occassional wake up call, but firing them in a residential neighborhood seems accepted within social norms. Doesn't make it cool, but also doesn't make it crazy.

Hatred? Most people in the USA have no idea who Maradona is. They are too busy thinking about minor sport figures like Pete Rose or that basketball player who recently got accused of rape.

Of course they know nothing about a coke sniffing, communist, Pele-wannabe, ex-soccer player.

The're to busy watching stories on CNN about chronic gamblers and rapists. :D

Nope. Maybe if he was nearly as good as Pele people here would give a damn.
