I thought the karmic connection between the two teams was focused on Benitez and Mourinho, but apparently it runs deeper than that. This will be what, the 104th meeting in the last five years?

Hopefully we beat then 50-0 and Benitez gets sacked.

Liverpool back to their old selves lately so it probably won't be too hard for us this time around.

I really don't like Liverpool. Is there any other team in the BPL that Chelsea fans would hate more at the moment?

The British Petroleum Legion? The Bournemouth Police Liaison? The Bantu Protection League? What are you talking about?
And no, I don't really like Liverpool very much either.

lol
ron,
I suppose it depends on who you talk to. There is a large contingent who dispise the bindippers, others who hate Le Arse or the Manure, and some of the golden oldies who continue to hate Spurs, Leeds, etc.
I would have to think that the Liverpool may be the most hated team at the moment.

Yeah, I'll agree with that. Although I did beat Abramovich onto the bandwagon, I am certainly of the newer generation of fans, and it's hard to get as worked up about Fulham or QPR as it is Liverpool or Arsenal. I'm sure that's mostly because the local rivals are just not at the same level as Chelsea at the moment. I think that as football becomes more of a national/international game and less of a local concept, it becomes easier to foment rivalries that aren't necessarily geographic. When I can go online and read about Wenger whining away or Gerrard diving again and again, and then come here and read what the fans of those teams spew out, it's not hard to start hating them quickly.

BPL = Barclays Premier League. I don't know how it's termed in the US.
Interesting info on the team Chelsea loathes. I have a hard time with C Ronaldo, but other than that I bear little ill will to the ManU contingent. I'm also a 'relatively' new Chelsea fan ('98). I agree that club rivalry will start to be based less on geography and more on recent history, though I'm sure it'll be a while til the Spurs-Arsenal tiff will bear less significance.

I know. I was making fun of you. It is and will be the EPL or just the prem to me. :)
These corporate names will continue to proliferate, but that doesn't mean we have to take them hook, line, and sinker.

Any time I watch Liverpool it just makes me angry for some reason, except when they're losing. That's how much they disgust me.

I feel the exact same way about Manu. It's different for every fan I suppose. The only thing we can all agree on is who is your FAVORITE club.

im also a relatively new chelsea fan, but... at heart i am as die hard as any other die hard CFC fan, i live, breath, and am a part of chelsea, and forever will be!
that being said, yes i do ********ing hate liverpool fc, something about them, i hate gerrard, i hate the gathering of scousers at anfield with their ************ YNWA bulshit song, its just something i get when looking at em, i loath the spurs, leArse and other london clubs, excpet for arsenal, they come nothign close to the blues.
EDIT: as to MEN UTD and C. Ronaldo, if i had a gun, i would turn every tv in my house into swiss cheese
