Yet more players being linked with the old gold and black -

Wolves had talked to Luciano Figueroa, an Argentinian striker but have been beaten to the player by Birmingham City. Wolves are believed to be close to completing a deal for Steffan Iversen from Spurs. Wolves have been also been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon's Mario Jardel and Tottenham's Sergi Rebrov.

It must be getting frustrating for Dave Jones and Jez.

I also notice that just about every player we are linked with is also linked with Brum. I wonder if that's just some crazy coincidence.

Somehow, I doubt it! They are our biggest rivals next to Albion.

Yes, a few years back it was worse with Blues. With the incident at St. Andrews and the retaliation at New Street.

I think Dino Baggio would be a decent player for Wolves..

He doesn't have much pace left, but is still a smart/savvy type with more skill left than say Ince at this point...

It would be a big step should Wolves sign him.

If that's true then he was only 18 when he played in Italia '90.

Dino Baggio wasn't on Italia '90. That was Roberto Baggio, who was 23 at the time. Maldini had just turned 22.

Dino Baggio WAS on the '94 Cup squad. He would turn 23 shortly after the tournament ended.

More importantly I named my mutt dog Dino after Dino Baggio. Frequently people will say "That's a great name. After the dog on the Flintstones?"

"No, that was a dinosaur. We named him after the great Italian central midfielder Dino Baggio".

Jackasses!

So, according to the Express and Star, here's the possible signings, and status.

John Craddock (D-Sunderland)
Nothing too official on this yet, talks seem to be in the preliminary stage. Mick McCarthy wants to keep Craddock, but Sunderland need to cut their wage bill, and the initial asking price for Craddock seems to be in the area of £1.5m

Carlos Kameni (GK- Le Havre)
Will be in for a medical on Wednesday. There is still a concern about his securing a work permit, and the possibility that a French side will swoop in at the last minute. This would be for a loan deal, at least initially.

Dino Baggio (M-Lazio)
Was at Molineux for talks with Dave Jones and Jez Moxey on Monday. Nothing official yet. This would be a loan deal for one year, as well.

Steffen Iverssen (F-Tottenham)
Awaiting results of a medical done on Thursday. This move has been put on the "back burner" for a couple of days with the hightened interest in Kameni, Baggio, and Craddock.

And, now for the "doom and gloom" portion of this post...Bookmakers in England are reporting hightened action on Wolves being relegated following their 6-1 pasting at Morecambe on the weekend. Wolves fielded their strongest team possible at that time for that match, although it was missing Murray, Lescott, Miller, Blake, Ndah, Silas, and Okoronkwo (The preliminary squad for the friendly tonight at Yeovil does include Murray) Coral currently have Wolves at 5-4 for the drop, with increased action. Bet365 had Wolves at 11-10 as of this morning, but it is expected that will change soon. William Hill, and Stanley have Wolves at even, and Ladbrokes have them going at 8-11 for the drop. Leicester are the early drop favorites (8-15 at William Hill) Wolves second, and Bolton third (11-8 at WH)

I remember watching Italia 90 as a kid and remember 2 Baggios (Roberto and Dino).

If Dino Baggio was on the squad for Italia 90, he never made the bench. FIFA match reports for the 90 Cup never list Dino Baggio. He appeared in every match at USA 94 and at France 98, and wasn't on the squad for Korea/Japan.
In the 89-90 season, he only made 3 appearances for Torino in Serie B. In the 90-91 year he had 25 appearances for a then-Serie A Torino, my thinking would be then that he may well have featured in friendlies leading up to Italia 90, but it's more likely that he didn't really figure into the Italian squad until qualifier time for USA 94 (by which point he had played for Inter and Juventus).
