According to The Weather Channel, the following is the forecast for kickoff on Saturday:

Temperature: 44 degrees
Wind-chill: 35 degrees
Chance of rain: 90%
Wind: From the N at 25 mph.

Could be the worst weather for a match in Foxboro in years, if not ever.

Would they ever consider moving the game to Sunday, outside of the Patriots time slot (in Indianapolis)?

No way in hell.

Although this forecast sticks, we have had an incredible season weatherwise. I don;t recall the last time I was rained on at a game, and too be honest, I will trade one really wet day for all the dry ones we had. That said, I'm glad we aren't down goals cause it could be a tough day to get them.

Only if the City called an "Emergency" and requested everyone to stay home.
Anyone who was at the USA-Ireland friendly knows soccer can be played in mega heavy rain.

This is one situation where having modern Field Turf may actually help ;)

Worse than the last time we played NY in the playoffs? I passed by several cars that spun off the highway due to blizzard-like conditions before that one.

The Chivas game in 2006 was also cold, windy, and had a driving rain. Most STH's stayed home for that one.

It might be bad, but I have a hard time believing it will be worse than the inaugural MLS Cup in 1996 or even the US/Ireland match (can't remember the year) back in the old Foxboro Stadium. It should be memorable. The walk-up crowd will be down, for sure, but the field turf might actually produce a half-way decent game (no balls stopping in huge puddles like 1996!).

Well it has been said that it would take an act of God to bring the cup to New England.... bring it on....:p

It's been an exceptional season, weather-wise - in temperature and precipitation. Global warming has been good to us!

The Revs struggled with the snow on the field in the first half. Then, like a sign from the heavens, we switched ends, the snow melted and the Revs took over!

Absolute monsoon. I was watching the play intently from midfield and never saw the winning (Sanneh's?) goal.

ECF against Chicago in 05 was pretty awful as well, if memory serves.

However, also if memory serves, I can't remember a bad-weather loss.

This of course kills the attendance.

Most of the people who skipped aren't on these boards! ;)

I'm not saying it was raining hard, but Monty's beer was empty when he started that chant!

The pre-game weather for the Fire playoff game last year was pretty bad. I remember having to help hold down a canopy in the lot. Luckily the rain did stop for the game itself. We only got 9,372 at that one......:(

Heh ... :D

Actually, the Fort was pretty empty, and there were A LOT of people on here that didn't go to that game. Not that I blame 'em ... but they missed a great time.

I'm trying to figure out if I should even bother with my canopy. I might go to Home Depot and bring another set of four cinder blocks and load each leg with 2. Is it even worth it?

Yes ... that way I can smoke my customary damn cigar because I don't want to jinx this. The things I do for you people. :D

Would you want me to bring some blocks from my house?

If you have 'em, that'd be great. Less stuff for me to a) buy and b) bring in the car, since I'll have the 2007 scarves with me as well.
