Is there some way to follow games online? Radio or text? What about the Arsenal/Liverpool match today?

New soccer fan who very excited about the EPL!

Thanks,

To answer your questions...

Text: A good site, sports.com, folded over the summer--so text commentary at this point is limited to the BBC's website.

Audio: Check the specific team's website--some have joined Premium TV's pay-for-listen group with has all of the teams in English D1-D3. Some have it free (for the time being), like Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Manchester United.

The Community Shield match (tomorrow) should be broadcast online by Arsenal and Liverpool's website.

I don't think PTV have quite all Nationwide League sides, plus they appear to be in financial trouble too. Additionally they also have two clubs in the Conference, and if all being well commentary from the Shay (and possibly Underhill?) will be available too.

Well, PTV say they have all the D1-D3 teams....

www.officialfootballsites.co.uk

Taking a look, it's close but no cigar--regardless, most if not all Nationwide games will have a webcast from one club or the other.

Liverpool's site would not let me listen unless I ponied up a couple of pounds and did not see a link for Audio at Arsenal.

I am listneing to BBC Five Live but I think it will cut off commentary in about 2 minutes.

Virtually all of the EPL teams require you to purchase an online membership, "e-ticket", etc. on a monthly or annual basis in order to get the audio commentary. This started last season and is more ubiquitous this season.

I often use the live text commentaries available at Soccernet.com. They are pretty good in their own way, but maddening at times (five comments one minute, then emptiness for five). It depends on the guy doing the commentary - some do a pretty good job of capturing the tone of the match and noticing trends in the game.

Sporting Life (http://www.sportinglife.com) and Sky Sports (http://www.skysports.com) both have pop up window "game trackers" (or did last season) that allow you to follow the latest from all the stadiums.

I usually have one of those open while listening to the audio for my boys.

You can listen to Bradford matches for free (for the time being).

They haven't got their "World" service set up yet.

Listening to Palace-City right now.

Well, ManU only requires signing up--to this point.

You can listen to all the chelsea matches free on Big Blue each and every game day.
I have already listened to several of the pre season matches to date.

Thanks!

I love Penguin Radio. I doubt they'll broadcast any matches but the TeamTalk updates are great.

A fantastic site and some of the callers in are real characters.Good Q and A sessions at the end of each match.

I picked up the pre-season game against Aldershot on Penguin so if the official site gives you a hard time linking up ( it will if hit hard by users) go via Penguin to Big Blue.

Wow, I didn't even know about all that. Whenever you find something interesting or a live match please post it or PM me.

The fun is finally starting. Over a dozen matches on TV next week. I can't wait. :D
