This thread is dedicated to our captain... Gallas...

I dont think we get a point on Sunday if not for him and the fight and inspiration he brought... it was Gallas who took the ball and nutmegged Xabi and got into the box... when we looked like we might quit, Billy was urging the guys on... Gallas is amazing, and was an excellent choice for our captain... Arsene knows

as long as he doesnt get injured, ill be really happy to have him as captain. he is great on the field, i have a feeling hes great in training and in the locker room, and he deals well with the press these days, always with somthing great to say about the team. kolo has been teh man for years, but im certainly not displeased with gallas being our skipper this year.

Lol, and sadly you believe this. Yes, if Gallas wasn't there we would have crashed and burned to a flaming defeat  I feel the need to point out Gallas played in the two games have dropped points in. Food for thought?

Plus I have never, ever heard anyone call him Billy before. Willy yes, Billy no

I didn't think that he looked that great on Sunday. Looked like he was making some poor clearances. And i call him Bill.

It's not Gallas' fault that Lehman blows ass.

the guy is inspirational... and his performance was great... who made the tackle on Gerrard in the box which if he had not, would have lead to a sure goal... Gallas lead us on, and is very responsible for the great team spirit... if you all want to be mad that he played at Chelsea, fine... I am glad that he is wearing the armband for Arsenal and playing hard every game

and I like the name Billy

Is it true that Gallas can cure cancer, Billy?

No, but Chuck Norris' tears do. Too bad he never cries...

William Gallas visited the Virgin Islands... they are now simply called The Islands.

William Gallas doesn't do push-ups- he pushes the Earth down.

William Gallas lost his virginity before his dad did.

 Kinda took it that step too far if you ask me. Thought we were saying Gallas wasn't a savior...:o but no matter.

I'm pretty happy with Gallas on the field. Kolo is and will be The Man, but seeing "billy" back there makes me happy too. I like that he's vocal too, at least for right now..

He is experienced.... so that's good. I wonder how longer he will be wearing the armband before handling it over to Toure?

Toure will take it once Gallas leaves in a couple of years and I expect Toure to then keep it till he retires as an Arsenal faithful and legend.

I just hope Toure will have time to serve as captain before the armband is handed over to Fabregas (provided that both stay in the club for that long).

A question: do the French pronounce Gallas with or without the 's' at the end?

They say it like they see it. As does everyone else.

With. I've always been curious as to why they say Nicolas Anelka without pronouncing the "s", even when they say his full name and the "s" goes into the "a" of Anelka... odd.

French is chock full of explainationless exceptions and rules. That's why I love it.

Just like English.
