Great to see Cruz Azul return to the Bay Area. I'm hoping they choose SBC park instead of the Oakland coliseum.

Would of thought that they would of placed America in Houston.

What records do they take into account when figuring out what teams will participate? I was hoping my Santos would qualify.

The eight teams participating in InterLiga 2008 earned berths based on their combined record in the 2006 Apertura and 2007 Clausura seasons of the Mexican domestic league. (http://web.mlsnet.com/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20071029&content_id=126515&vkey=pr_mls&fext=.jsp)

Thanks Sid, I guess the Apertura 06 killed my team's chances.

It's a tournament set up to decide 2 of Mexico's 3 spots in the Copa Libertadores.

The Interliga is obviously just there for economic purposes... Anything to make money off games in the U.S.

Cuz they won the title in the last apertura so they have to play the Concacaf tournament and if they win that, they can go to el mundial de clubes.

Nope, they already played in concacaf they lost the final to Pachuca don't you remember, they are not in the interliga because they are already in the copa libertadores as Mexico 1....................unless they win the Apertura 07 then they'll have to play in concacaf just like pachuca will.........

My bad...:o you're right. I remember when Pachuca and Chivas played. They were fun, intense games to watch. Too bad los Tuzos aren't looking too good before el mundial de clubes. If Pachuca was still in their prime they'd have a good shot at winning the whole thing.

Man, theres really isn't a strong team in that bunch, unless those teams change their gameplay.
The most strongest is Toluca, but toluca is well known to choke in Intl. competitions.
