Slow news day. I guess FDA has all week to cut and paste some old articles, right Rodan?

"We just defended well. We didn't want to take any chances and leave holes. At the same time, we wanted to play and go forward but, at the end of the day, who cares? We came to get a result and we defended properly and concentrated for 90 minutes."
Uhhhhh....I don't know how much I like that comment.

We've come a long way when one of the most important games of the MLS season is played on Type II Fieldturf with gridirons instead of astroturf with gridirons.
Viva la beautiful game!

OK, I wasn't able to catch the game, but this bit from Frank's article struck me as pretty odd...
"The Red Bulls' frustration began to show following an Angel foul in the 44th minute. As Reis set up to take the free kick from just outside the goal area, Doe ran through the penalty area to slam the ball into the net. Marrufo discussed the incident with Reis, then had Reis take the free kick."
So how was this not a yellow card, unless I'm completely misunderstanding this? If Reis was getting ready to take a kick, and Doe did this, how could he not be booked? Or was this not a good description of what really happened?

I was at the game and I have no idea what he was talking about. I would have noticed if it were egregious, I would have remembered it.
Maybe it happened really quickly and didn't seem like a cardable offense? Either way, it's not like the Revs were upset Red Bull were wasting time.

The way I saw it, Reis seemed to be taking his time and Doe came running up and booted it into the net. I too thought it would be a yellow card. Seemed like the ref was chewing out Reis though.
