Well I am back ye buggers, and its nice to see that I have been missed in some circles. Thanks for the kind thoughts to those of you who wondered where I had disapeared to. Well to offer a brief summation, life is full of funny incidents involving timing. When do I return home for business/personal time- the week that my beloved Jose gets the sack. To say that I was disillusioned as I watched another manager who I thought was great for the club and successful at the same time (Vialli if you werent following) be pushed out the door to make way for "progress".

Arriving after our game vs Maure and Mike Dean, I realised how little I actually missed the English media and how uneducated the footballing masses are and somehow seem to live off every pundit on sky or the latest inside source from the Sun for information, FFS it makes one sick. Well long story short, I sat through the Fulham game and was relatively disgusted by what I saw on the field and in the stands. The game left a lot to be desired and quite frankly the attitude of a large contingent of fans was shocking- boycott the club... like Ambramovich needs the money. Cmon lads, I was absolutely gutted after the JM debacle, but does that mean that the players deserve to be booed and slagged off and ignored... I will leave that to the new collection of idiots who now reside, hopefully for a short period, on this board.

Wont bore you with the rest of the trip, although I did catch some more footie..always a good thing.

The other thing that really caught me off guard in the entire JM saga, without going into full detail, was how he left the club smelling like roses. All of sudden he was a victim in the media, which had for so long tormented and betrayed him, and it showed how fickle and disgusting the English media are as a whole. For those of you who are interested I did receive a pretty good viewpoint of the events behind the club in the weeks leading up to the Jose sacking and I was quite suprised by what I heard. Needless to say, if the Liverpool CL semi didnt cost JM his job, I would be a suprised person indeed. For now things have seem have been put to bed on this one, but if it comes up again I will add my ten pence/cents.

Right onto the next point, I would like to congratulate newyorkerr for being the Best New Worst poster on this board. Your argumentative, one sided and quite frankly ignorant posts seem to be doing nothing but ruining this board. I am sure you will respond with one of your childish personal attacks on me, starting with something like "well fern started it" but I could really care less. Some helpful hints for you.

1. This board was around long before you and has some outstanding regular members who know what they are talking about. Try excersing a little respect before attacking them, you are still have a lot to answer for regarding your threats to Walter who is a very good lad (Walter we will have to get a beer one day) and quite frankly I think you are lucky to still be posting on here.
2. Stop the Sheva shyte. No one cares. Everything at Chelsea Football Club does not revolve around Sheva so find another leg to hump will ya.
3. As always, with most of the newbies, you will find a much warmer recpetion by following the simple posting rules- Read, Stop, Breathe, Think, Post.

BTW- if you have a problem with what I have to say, send me a pm as I will not be responding to any crap that you throw in my direction and will gladly be waiting to use the ignore feature.

(Sorry mods it had to be said)

Right onto the next person who needs a piece of humble pie- how about me in regards to Belletti. Fecking hell, good defender, gets foward well, not afraid to get stuck in- are we sure he is Brazilian. Looks like a nice under the radar buy for us.

As for the rest of the shyte we have brought in- I cant defend them anymore

Ben Haim looks a fecking joke and out to sea in defence
Sidwell is a headless chicken and a ginga one at that
Pizzaro might be slower than Sheva.... wow!

That leaves Malouda, who I feel is getting an unfair rub from Monkee. Now my great Simian friend we have to realise that Malouda's strengths are ball to feel and playing possession- a perfect JM buy (remember JM wanted him and he signed due to JM) and is not the traditionally winger who likes to run with the ball and jink past 2 defenders with pace ala Robben (dont start getting excited mike ;)). Malouda looks like he is starting to settle and IMO he is not a true English winger that will hug the touchline, but more of a J. Cole drift into the middle to create, etc. Perhaps we should refer to Malouda as left sided midfielder and that way he would receive less stick. We have SWP, Sinclair, and Kalou (who IMO is better on the wing running at players, than in middle with his remarkably accurate shooting) to provide pace on the flanks. Give him time Monkee, methinks he might turn out to be a good little player.

A nod to Alex as well, who although shaky at times is a great choice for a third CD.

What do we need? Another foward desperately. I know Sheva scored a massively important goal vs Citeh (note the sarcasm please) but I think like most Chelsea fans I have supported him for a while now and although I think he is a class guy, he is just not the right fit for the club. When we signed him, I was overjoyed, but it didnt work and we need to find another foward and hopefully keep Drogs happy for a few more seasons.

As for the current team- Frankie looks quite useful again now he is fresh and rested, Essien appears to emerging from whatever funk he had, Carvs is a fantastic defender and Cech is great as ever, Drogs is a beast and I think things may be slowly but surely looking up for us. Still a long way to go all around, but lets hope for the best and continue to support the lads.

Tonnes more to talk about and discuss, I hope everyone is doing well and look foward to catching up with you.

oh yea and one more thing, and this will problaby get most of you going, but lets lay off the management at the club in regards to transfers. Dont forget that JM signed several/turned away several players and blaming Kenyon and Co for crap that it is beyond their control is absolute bollox.

For the umpteenth time- Gallas, Robben, and Diarra all wanted away. Would not stay or sign or new contract, etc. We ended up with good money and A. Cole from those three leaving which was not that bad considering the length left on the contracts at the time. Keep in mind that Diarra is already grumbling about playing time at Le Arse.

And yes Ballack and Sheva have been disasters to date- but who here really complained when they were signed? Arguably one of the best fowards and best CMs in the World at the time? (hears the sounds of crickets)

Malouda seems to be coming into his own, Alex has provided useful so far which leaves Sidwell, Ben Haim and Pizarro as all hopefully useful squad players. And although we didnt get Alves, due to Del Nido and not Kenyon, we ended up with Belletti who has done well so far.

Lamps contract is still being worked out, why hasnt it been finalised yet? Timeline of the deal, is anyone comfortable paying a 35 year old 140k a week to sit on the bench? Didnt think so.

Lets lay off the suits for a while eh?

Do go on.............:) I've heard everything from JM engineering his own departure to backstabbing.

Welcome back btw, I think I may need a slice of the Belletti humble pie too.....

I dont want to stir up a hornets nest, as I did keep up with the board while at home, but I will simply say two quick cryptic items

1. Jose does not smell of roses as stated- see Vialli
2. Remember when RA got after Villa scored their second goal and we all thought "well he just may be leaving early to beat traffic"..... er, not so much!

Sometimes it is hard to keep up withy the old posters, but the other day someone said where's fern, and I realized wow, no shit, where is fern.

You've been missed, the board has really fallen off lately.

Thanks for the mention in your post, a beer indeed would be nice.

Great post and glad to see you around again!

Yeah we need another forward and badly. Problem is that just about anybody who meets the criteria I'd be looking for (quick, good dribbler, and an established goal-scorer in England) is going to be away with Drogba come January. Martins, I think, would be the ideal choice, but there's no sense buying him if we're just going to be looking at Kalou and Sheva and Pizarro in January when he's off with Nigeria.

I was thinking, though, about Spurs. They're playing awfully badly about now and unless Ramos changes something, fast, they're going to be playing for 10th place come Christmas. Ramos must be seeing this as something of a long-term project, and is surely going to want to bring in some of his own players for the following season, so why not try to nick Berbatov? They'd sell at the right price, he can't be happy there now.

We should have gone for Berbatov this summer instead of Pizarro. Doubt he'll leave now that Juande Ramos is around.

Yes shame to have missed you, I did not know you were over here. I could have done with a drink after the Fulham game it was dire.

Saturday was a different story I was floating on air as I left the Bridge, I must admit I did not see that coming I would have been happy with a draw.

To be fair to Sheva I think the style of play we showed on Saturday is much more suited to his style, playing the ball into space behind the defender alowing him to wrong foot the defender.
