I havent voted in any of these polls..
You scoff at the suggestion that someone might vote for england but errr..
look at the other nations who are mentioned.
Argies?? the same argies who could muster only 2 goals at the world cup..
Holland?? didnt even reach the world cup...
our bunch aint bad IMHO..

IMO, Ruud, JFH and Bergkamp are the only two I'd want wearing the Orange if I had to get a result. That's still good enough to nudge Brasil by a whisker, even tho Holland's 0-for-the World Cup. Definitely not Kluivert- he seems to be able to produce only at the club level. He fails when it matters.

for once, give us a break dude - first of all strikers dont score goals by themselves, MF's and WB's are vital to the attack - it can be argued that strikers are the least to blame when a team puts up a donut
argentina-saviola, crespo, cavenaghi, batistuta, c lopez, g lopez, caniggia, ortega
england-owen, shearer (even though he's out of 3 lions, ill give 'em to ya), smith, phillips, heskey, rooney, vassell, fowler, jeffers, christie
HOLLAND-van nistelrooy, hasselbaink, kluivert, makaay, van hooijdonk, van persie, kuyt, van der vaart(only if needed)
now put down the homer pipe and honestly pick the selection group you'd least like to have

But he chokes. See '98 W/C semis. Yes, he scored, but he missed many, many more great chances in that match. Notice that Brasil marked Bergkamp- I think DB was in that match, can't remember for sure- out of the match and basically dared Holland to win with Kluivert. They knew Dennis might kill them. See also Euro 2000 semis. It's one thing to make great shots and get saved anyhow, but that ain't how it went down.

Oh, I saw it, allright- I also saw the six or seven other good chances he got go high, wide, or straight to Taffarel.

so your point is that patrick finds and wastes more chances than other strikers even get? LOL - i think you're exaggerating a bit - FCOL the guy equalized brazil near the death of WC98 semis, won the champions' league for AJAX as a 19 y/o sub, led the dutch champions (if not the eredivisie, i'll look) in scoring as a 20 year old, golden boot man at euro2000 (and yes, he hit the post on a penalty that would have surely beaten italy in the semis... i guess that makes baggio a choker too) - and he's only like 27, maybe he's a little better than you say?

I think France currently has a good bunch.
Cisse
Wiltord
Trezeguet
Henry
Dugarry
Kapo
Dacourt
Marlet
Govou
Danks81

Kapo and Dacourt are midfielders, and Wiltford has been playing on the wing lately.

It's a tie between Italy and England in my book. England have more depth, but Italy have more quality.

Right now? Today? Argentina. Followed very closely by Brazil and Holland.
