I think its time to seriously talk about him. Showed today again a great performance against Bremen and made Diego totaly invisible, also one of the few Schalke players which also played good in the CL.
Defiantly one of the best DM's playing in the Bundesliga this season. For me the perfect DM backup in case Frings cant play and we are searching for exactly such a player since quite some time, pace, power, good technique, very physical and aggrsive and is even dangerous infront of the goal.
He is finaly using all his talent after he had so much bad luck with injuries.
Löw, this guy MUST go to the EC. :)

I really think they should bench Ernst at Schalke, have Jones play DM and Ozil/Lovenkrands on the wing so that they can have more width. Jones is a very good player, but he plays more of a Right Center Midfield than DM to me. But yes, Jones has been excellent this year, and should definitely be called up. Rolfes has played pretty well this year too though IMO. But Jones has more ability than him I think.

I'd take Jones over Rolfes any day of the week.

Who wouldn't? :D How can we have such average players like Odonkor and terrible ones like Trochowski when this guy is constantly playing well? I love Low, but this is getting silly now.

Me too.
Rolfes played quite a few good games but Jones is more of a presence on the field and he has so much fire in him, I really like that.

Odonkor isn't even in the Betis starting line-up currently. There is just no reason to call him up anymore.

Trochowski is actually playing really good right now. The last few games he was Hamburg's best player.

I don't think that he was all that bad in his last two or three games for Germany, either. Trochowski set up Kuranyi for three easy goals against the Czechs, it's not his fault that Kuranyi missed the open net from such a close range thrice. I have no idea why Löw took out the only player who actually set up his teammates.

He didn't have the best start into his international career, he was quite bad at times, but the last few games were good enough, and his current form in Hamburg is definately enough to deserve his national team nominations.

it must have been 2 or 3 years ago that i said Trochowski is one of the biggest talents in german football and i still think that its true BUT i still wanted him out of the german NT because he simply didnt deserve it and wasted too many chances.
I would be more than glad if he finally starts to use his talent on a regular because cause he is more talented than Schweinsteiger but even Schweinsteiger who has also many up's and down's shows more solid performances.
So if Trochowski actually keeps playing like that then noone will complain when he gets called up but thats a big if and Trochowski isnt that young anymore to get called up just for having a lot of talent.
I mean its obvious that someone like Löw who sees him in training rates him highly so we can only hope that Trochowski starts to show us his abilities on the pitch.

But back to topic... considering that Frings is again injured and most likely will miss the next NT games i would be surprised if Jones doesnt get nominated.

Trochowski is doing well again with Hamburg, who are in terrific form at the moment. Maybe he is the type of player that needs a while to adapt. I feel we'll get the best out of him when the players around him are clicking. As it stands, I don't mind him in the NT, especially since we're kinda short on capable wingers.

Odonkor on the other hand.........

I'd rather have Marin than either of them. He has vision and is a good crosser, though way too inconsistent in his game (as inconsistent as Troch). Trochowski has been terrible in every game besides last where he was just average tbh. Besides setting up the 2 goal chances, he did nothing at all and was simply average.

Saw him against Chelsea yesterday
He had a very good game behind the defence
He totally eclipsed Lampard in midfield and Chelsea struggled from that
I didn't even heard the name of the Chelsea captain during the first half !!
Schalke should have won but didn't find the net due to their lack of quality up front ( Kuranyi was a big loss for them )

He's been called up for the two remaining games. About time.

Indeed.

I love to see him play, although I don't like Schalke. Very powerful and agile, always ready to get the ball. And he always shows great commitment, no matter the scoreline.

What a season he's having! He was wonderful today. I think for the next two Euro qualifiers, given Frings' injury, he and Hitzlsperger should start alongside one another in a defensive midfield pairing.

Jones won't have his debut in the NT for the time being since he got injured in today's match against Hamburg thanks to that moron Guerrero who fouled him. What a shame!

Why? Hitzlsperger and Ballack were both pretty good today.
