Another big game for Werder. We'll see how much stamina the team have with Bundesliga, Champions League, and DFB Pokal games in the next 10 days. C'mon, 3 points for Werder!

Diego is getting shut down today, every time he touches the ball, 2 or even 3 men on him.

aaaghhhhhh Diego proves that he is on another level than his team mates....sends an absolutely majesterial ball into almeida who fans on it, ameida is stuffed by a great save on a breakaway about 25 seconds later

Embarrassing miss by Sanogo who also had other opportunities. Worst player on the pitch today closely followed by the anonymous Diego and Løvenkrands.
Best players: Frings and Rafinha. Both very active, Frings with some great passes and good defensive work and Rafinha was running his arse off the whole match getting a lot of free kicks and creating trouble for Werder defense.
Both teams ineffective in front of goal, especially Werder. 1-1 seems fair.

The match was very good to watch, cudos to both teams.
I think the draw is a fair result, both teams had chances to win it.

Diego wasn´t bad IMO, Schalke played just good
against our midfield, that´s all. Sanogo was surprised
about the goalie mistake, didn´t expect it and so looked clumpsy.

It has been quite a while since I have watched a matchbut put simply last night was one of the best BL game I've ever seen.
Great atmosphere (as always in Schalke), entertaining contest with plenty of cards - Bundesliga at its best! XD
Werder could have recorded their long-awaited victory in Gelsenkirchen (we know who the culprit was ) but 1-1 was a fair result anyway. Both teams played their hearts out.
My quick evaluation on the Werder players:
Wiese - Couldn't do much about that goal. Had an average game. Nothing special. (6/10)
Harnik - Rewarded Schaaf's decision with a solid, calm display. He wasn't keen on going up front but that's fine. I rather like him sticking on his defensive jobs, which he performed admirably well. A pleasant surprise. (7/10)
Mertesacker - Had an outstanding game and marshalled the backline really well, and also providing a few crucial interceptions (8/10)
Naldo - Played the best game for Werder I've ever seen. I've always been skeptical of the praise on him but yesterday he demonstrated all his strengths convincingly. (8.5/10)
Tosic - Also had an excellent game, showing some great skills on the ball. I really wonder if Wome can regain his place later on. (8/10)
Jensen - Unfortunately he had to limp off early. I can't really make a judgement on him (6/10)
Baumann - Again I tend to overlook him due to his role (same as Jensen) but he didn't perform badly at all. (7.5/10)
Frings - Was a bit fiery in the early stages, but just as always he gave another superb performance. (8/10)
Borowski - Kept and delivered the ball well but has not reached his best. Mediocre. (6.5/10)
Diego - Was effectively shut down in the 1st half. Jones failed to keep up the pressure on him in the later stages of the game and he burst lively, orchestrating the bulk of Bremen's offense. (7.5/10)
Almeida - Had a similar game as Diego. Anonymous in 1st half, while in the 2nd half he was a menacing threat. (8/10)
Sanogo - Without a doubt the worst player on the pitch. Anybody would be annoyed seeing him waste three golden chances HORRIBLY. (5/10)
Rosenborg - Struggled to make an impact. By the time he got subbed it, Bremen had already concentrated on defending. (5/10)
Vranjes - Played for 15 seconds without touching the ball. Unrated.
I was really impressed by how Bremen coped with the early goal and how they gradually took control of the midfield. Kudos to the defence for giving such a great show.
And kudos for Schalke who put us under tremendous pressure at certain time. Rafinha without a doubt the best player for them. However I could not understand why they eased the pressure on Diego in the end. That could be a major difference. Unfortunately Lovenkrands, Rakitic and Grossmuller were quite disappointing though.
Anyway, I am well satisfied with a point.
