"We still do have an interest in playing in the Premier League. It's a wonderful and global game. I love the passion of the football fans here in the United Kingdom."
Why can't Kraft admire the passion of the fans here for the team he already owns? :(

Because to some it's only about the money! period!
His true love is for the gridiron..anything else is either a write-off or a profit center...

What was he supposed to say? I really like English football, but I intend on firing everyone at the club I want to buy and turn a profit at all costs. They have fine passion over there, but I want you to make sure you waste newspaper space by giving a shot out to the Midnight Riders who have nothing to do my takeover in England, but are a phenomenon of epic proportions worth talking about?

And if you go over to ESPN Soccernet, you'll find that Parkhurst won GOTY.

It’s interesting that Kraft singles out London. Maybe he’ll buy a small club like Millwall. He can move them to Wembley and paint some American football lines on the field for preparation for when the Pats are invited over to play. If this doesn’t change Millwall into a family friendly brand of entertainment he can balance out the bushwackers with a throng of cub scouts.

That was almost funny.

No, what he could have said was..."and despite popular belief, there is vocal support for the soccer team I own in MLS." How hard would that be?

On the rare occasion he doesn't pawn off Revs interviews to Jon, he has failed to mention the passion of Patriots fans. I doubt they are worried. Does everyone have to justify our existence to the foreign press?
He's an absentee landlord. That's no big deal if the super is competent.

and like wise, most rev fans ON THIS BOARD 1st love is the redsox, pats, etc. and the revs are something to do on those other days.
Far be it for me, a "soccer is # 1 guy", to show those "soccer is # 2-n" fans the same distain that many people show the kraft-o-matic adjustible owner for having a favorite sport that isn't soccer
(hypocritically many are also, like Kraft-o-matic, placing soccer as thier 2nd-n favorite sport...)
I am an observer of the world, and i find that curious.

i distinctly got the opposite impression on the assorted Revs vs (insert NE team here) threads. But then, i didn't actually count them up.
I usually just make assersions and proclimations forcefully, and hope nobody calls me on them.

Seriously, if I was an Englishman, I would not want Kraft buying my soccer team. Thank God all the big 4(except for Arsenal, sort of) have all just gone into new ownership.

Same here. The fact that I'm actually paying attention to the DC/Fire game more than the Sox should kinda prove that.
Now if it was Game 7 or something, that might be a tougher choice, but soccer's easily my number 1. I happily skipped two home Pats games last year (Colts and Jets) to be with the Revs for the playoffs. :)
